NUS/SIM at cathay orchard? good, the bowling alley there is good. the ambience and the prize giving area is great

Hold your horses, people.
The last I heard, the Inter-Varsity Tourney in which NUS, NTU and the polytechnics are scheduled to participate in have been shifted from its original location of the Cineleisure Cathay Bowl because the lanes or oiling or something... (perhaps Yvonne could shed some light on the subject) ...weren't up to scratch. Now, the tourney's been shifted to Cathay Yishun SAFRA. So, NUS might not want to have the SIM/NUS there.
Just something I heard. =)

i am just bloody pissed wif NUS (no offence Ian and yvonne), they always never tell us the venue in time. bloody idiots. there isnt even a reply to my emails. they are supposed to be a serious bowling club and this is the nonsense they do. hey, our small committee is much more efficient man! More power to them then.

okies here's an attempt to shed some light on the change of venue issue for IVP (according to wat i gather from our meetings so pls DON'T take my word for the full story)
the coaches r considering a change of venue for IVP coz it may be difficult to book lanes for orchard cineleisure and yishun safra bowl is using the best oil to oil the lanes as compared to cineleisure...besides yishun is bigger so it'll be better in terms of sitting for spectators...these r juz some of the reasons brought up...as to whether IVP will be held at Yishun Safra, it'll all depend on whether the teacher in charge will approve of it...so it's all tentative...
as for SIM/NUS open...the venue has not been announced to us NUS bowlers either...so we dunno...(or maybe i'm blur lah)...there's not much talk abt the SIM/NUS open coz we've not been informed abt it either
as for the organization of the SIM/NUS open, it's under the planning of the sub-club...not to do with the bowlers coz most of the sub-club members r not bowlers (MOST not all) so perhaps not being bowlers, they dun understand the need for earlier notification of venue...i wouldn't know...paiseh if NUS quite slow in terms of organization...i dunno wat's the reason too...
but hey i'm looking forward to the tourney =) will be fun finally getting to play against u all...though i'm not in any decent form right now...heheh

Congrats on the admission to the IVP!! Thru'out my stay in SIM as a super lao-jiao, never have this chance.
So, you'll must "add-oil" hor. -
trainings still on mondays and fridays. this coming week will probably be the last at grassroots club. as soon as the venue is confirmed, we will switch training to competition grounds. hisham has agreed to get the lanes and coach us there. see you guys on the lanes. old birds... you could join us there. the NUS/SIM will also be held at the same venue as the IVP.
