Hi!
Just wondering if they are any web designers out there! Let's share our views and problems here!
Well... I'm not exactly very new to this business having been developing webpages for the last 2 years, and have just registered a company sublime designs recently.
I guess the biggest problem is finding customers who are willing to pay for a good website... most of them seem to settle for cheap $7/pg websites that look cheesy and ugly. sighz....

I'm trying to learn ASP right now.. quite easy... not as complicated as java or perl.. maybe you should try to pick up ASP as well.. then we can have an online discussion... hee hee

I'm hopeless at javascripts... usually take from the web and modify.. hee hee -

But one good way to learn is to just get a book and read.. once you've grasped the basics, go out and surf the web.. see something interesting... view the source and look at the scripting used.. then try and modify it for your own needs...
That's how I do it.... worked so far.. -

Sometimes there is a need to reinvent the wheel, otherewise there will never be any improvement. yeap i totally agreed with you Enigma.
copying is only a short cut. to really understand and do original wonders, still got to go thru the hard way.

I quite O.K... with it... hahahah U saw those photos... it's taken when I was 18.... now 21.... old already... Wow! Those are some really nice sites that i have visited! Okie..now a question for u people. Anyone ever used the program 'Imagestyler' before? I was using it to design the pages of my new webbie. But to my utter disappointment
, i have faced a lot of problem when i wanted to putthem up on the web.
Initially, there wasn't any problem in putting up the already designed page. Well, at least i could still see the graphics and stuff, but because i realized that the page wasn't centralized and went to change it, thereafter, when i reload it back i couldn't see a thing..well erm only the background actually. Hmm so anyone able to help me as to why i am facing this problem?

'Imagestyler' by adobe rite... let me think 4 a while before I thnk a a cople trouble shooting... anyway that program is kindda troublesome.. but it's also good too for design... I'll introduce DREAMWEAVER to U by marcomedia... it's better and user friendly....

I have the Dreamweaver program too. However, i don't really find it very user friendly. Well, perhaps it's prolly because i didn't go through the tutorial sections thoroughly. Any advice from you people about the tricks of using the program?

It really depends on what you mean by user-friendly. Dreamweaver doesn't provide as many custom coded scripts for users, as compared to Frontpage. HOWEVER, Dreamweaver allows the designer more freeplay.
The rendering of layers, timeline, behaviour, histroy, HTML cleanup, preview, testing in browsers etc... are all pretty useful.
You'll need greater independence and knowledge of HTML and web development to bring out the best in Dreamweaver. Frontpage is good only for standard websites, or personal pages which are simple.
Get to know the software better, and take some time to read the dreamweaver tutorial and help files. You'll love the software once you're familiar with all it's features. You may even find it more user-friendly than frontpage. -
Dreamweaver is the most user frenly software i ever used,once i installed it,i was away and creating compared to Frontpage where once i installed it,i had no inkling of how to start,heehehe

So...u also using Adobe Imagestyler to make yer page....eh. Usually, wat i do iz use a program to image capture of my screen. Then, i save the the original *.ist files of ImageStyler for future alteration.
Well....i started makin' webpages when i waz in my poly days. And rite now, me still learning how to make webpages wif Flash 4.

Anyway, where do you people getthe cash to buy Dreamweaver and frontpage and stuff like that .. so freaking ex manz ..Heh .. I cant save enuff in a mth for even *one* software .. sigh~~

Well dear Selena.. (can I call you that haa haa)..... if you're not doing it for commercial purposes.... you could you know... get the "you know" type...... just don't quote me on this...
but if you're doing it as a business than you better get the originals... the macromedia suite for webdesign comprising of dreamweaver, flash and fireworks cost $1,200 while photoshop cost around $900. That's $2,100 which really isn't that high for people seriously considering going into this line.
If not.... like I said.. the er hmmm.. type is not bad... : P -
Naah, I'm not doing it for commercial purposes, its rather for my own use, to learn how to use the s/w that is currently in demand, hot, blah blah blah.
And yes, I do know the "er hmmmmmm" type But currently, for the people trying to find that type of s/w, all I have to say is, good luck for I've noticed that there are getting lesser and lesser of these types of .. erm .. enterpreneurs.
2 thousand dollars you say? Gasp ... I can get a new system plus a big monitor with that kinda money - sigh~~~
Sigh .. I really wanna learn flash and dreamweaver, but if tell me to d/l from the website for the 30 day evaluation, it wont be feasible cos after 30 days .. do what eh? And get the ermm type also very hard ... and the original type is soooooooooooooooo cheap *smirk* Sigh .. the hair pulling ritual begins ...
