Dear all,
Attached is a new poem which I have written recently.... Hope you enjoy it...
Just a passing prodigal
Love Story
----------
Tell me a love story
and offer me a happy one
Tell me another love story
and refrain from a sad one
So I heard many tales of love,
where the best moved me
from one end of the Universe to the another
where the worst that we learned
threw us into the treacherous pits of Hell.
How much time do we know of love?
Is love a mere reaction for completion
where one seeks the other by purely superficial whims
or one finds the other thru the passing of time :
a brief second to have a crush,
Ten minutes to be infatuated
and perhaps a day to fall in love
yet a lifetime to really forget a person you love.
Are we not actors merely
playing our roles on the stage?
Are we not jesters surely
dancing with the twists of irony?
Does love really end when lovers part?
I beg not and I wish not,
like a string that does not break
when one could never see another again.
yet sometimes plagued by a rhetorical question :
Am I that fragment in your memory
that vanished without a trace
when you decided to leave for another?
Such is nostalgia like a grammar lesson,
where one finds the present tense and past perfect.
Such is love like a double edged sword,
which one could either be healed or hurt by Her.
Such is passion as a desire,
when Disappointment laughs mercilessly on our follies.
Such are the uncertainties of Destiny
in the weaving of a fragile fabric tinged with love and hate
Such are my lamentations
grown weary of the strange twists and turns
by Fate's mysterious wheel.
And yesterday, I was the Prince charming
of your elaborated fairy tale
where today, my time was up and another appeared,
and tomorrow I would be totally forgotten
stripped of my royalty which I once held
The cycle continue, in a beginning with an end.
Love is a dream, life is a dream,
Half our lives wasted, just for one dream.
Yet, torn between the edges of hope and despair,
in the spirit of a sentimentalist,
Hear me, and hear me again,
It is journey in the love story
that made it all worthwhile to seek
whether the ending is beautiful or ugly.

here's a nice poem.
You throw away the items
as if they are things that tune
the world around you,
tuning and changing yourself
your stance and response
towards everybody else
Jim look at the book of lies..
lies so glamourised by people
who are paid to make them
His heart held on to them in the past
it made him hold on to the illusions
and these Jim show them in his stance,
it betrayed the illusions he held
Jim threw away the book
It is worthless, he thought
He had allowed its colours
to capture his heart
He will give them up
because the conditions want him
to make a leap of faith,
a conceptual leap into the life
of engaging the present;
ever engaging the reality that
says nothing lasts forever

Dear Revelations,
Well, it depends whether the happy song you will send me next is what I experienced currently in my life. The bizarre thing when I wrote love story is under the circumstances when everyone is telling me about their love stories from both the happy and sad ends of the spectrum, and the song you have sent me is just nice for me to gain enough inspiration for the poem written. So, I should credit you for sending the song. And thanks for supplying me so many good songs....

Hi there, I have been fine and well, except now struggling for my 1st year report and my viva exams.
Well, I am still waiting for my love story, and that is perhaps one of my reasons of writing this poem....

Nice poem.. We throw away a lot of things behind. Or in a better sense, we leave behind a lot of things. Then when we come into contact with those things which we leave behind, the feeling would be described by a chinese phrase "You1 Ru2 Ge2 Shi4" (Like a seperation of a lifetime). Your poem depicted how I felt when I recovered a box from a friend and found the only photo which I have with my ex-gf with me now in UK. But that is in the past already, what we should do is to look at now....Perhaps, to re-phrase Maya's famous expression in a more optimistic note :
"Nostalgia is like a grammar lesson, you find the past tense and the future perfect."
