Poetic Passion

Was recently again on my fire for poems after the sob story competition. Just to start off. I hope you guys/gal add to the collection, We see if we can publish a book out of this. And yes I have the means and I am serious.
A poem, that describe my process of soul searching.
Soul search
My soul wanders in the void,
searching for it's destination,
without a compass, it travels,
without a purpose, it thinks.
Out of life's clutters,
it tries to find simplicity.
Admist chaos,
it looks for harmony,
Was a mistake made, yesterday?
It does not know,
for the mistake was only an action,
that was not meant to be.
My soul sees light,
a beautiful sight.
Enlightenment lies beyond,
and wisdom is the prize.
With morale high,
and "Onward Bound" it shouts,
towards the destination,
it has just found.

Outside the whirring of the fans
Inside the claustrophobia
A conviction that breathing is impossible
Amid a dark tumbling sea
Sticky with filthy memory
nausea rises up my torso
and eyes welling with unshed tears
I feel myself slowly sink
But even death eludes me

the vast sea bears no boundaries.
but neither does one knows how deep it is.
beautiful as it seems,
with its calm surface and pretty fishes,
the dangers it holds are certainly unknown
On a boat, a ship, or a yacht..........
i'm afraid of falling,
afraid of what would happen if i fall.
i'm afraid of drowning,
afraid of not being able to breathe.
i took up scuba diving,
in hope of curbing my fear,
my fear of the deep blue sea.
but it did not help.......
i'm still afraid,
afraid of running out of oxygen.
afraid of being attacked by a shark.
yes, i would still be afraid,
for the more i know, the more i fear.
unlike a 3 years old kid,
i have far more knowledge of the world,
of the world full of wonders.
the kid isn't scared of death,
he doesn't even know it exists.
but now i know, that someday i'll die.
i start treasuring my life,
counting the days and years as they pass.
but what's the use of knowing?
i would still be afraid.........
i question death, wondering.............
will it be painful?
would i be alone?
what happens after i die?
where would i be?
but even if i know the answers,
what's the use?
i would still be afraid,
afraid of something else.
i would still be asking questions,
questions 'bout the world we live in.
questions 'bout the wonders of life,
questions that are better left unknown.
let nature take its course,
let life live its own.
let it hold its wonders within,
do not question any further.
if we were meant to know, we will,
when the right time comes.
enjoy life as it is.
it's far too short,
too short to waste,
to squander away.
live life with a meaning,
with a purpose, with a goal.
love and be loved,
smile and be hapi.

Illusioned

I once lived in total Darkness where love is unknown
Just like an angel descending from Heaven
A ray of light spreading at the end of the tunnel
Every step I took forward, I still groped in the dark
Afraid that I might fall into an invisible back hole
I crawled on the floor
Heart raced, lips dry, sweat trickled
When will I reach the end
It is not you ..it is me...
It is my fear who is stopping me from going
to the Land of Forbidden Fruit
I was lost but now I am found
U appeared out of nowhere
Wrenching my heart
Come no more closer, or I will perish
Hurt is coming to haunt me, I know
Yet,the taste still lingers on...
Sweetness of Love....
Away from me...I cursed
Dillusioned...... -
Loneliness
The night comes
& darkness devours the land, alive
It forbidding presence hide in the lurkin shadows,
waitin to consume any fragile soul,alive
It agile legs crept behind its victim soundlessly
Its long arms slipped around his neck effortlessly
It ancient eyes shimmered behind his back relentlessly
Casting an evil glow that pierced through the moonless night
He panted
He struggled
He failed
An aura of mizery hung in the night air
In aversion to harmony -
somehow, this post stopped moving like the prev one.......well, i'm here to add on...

I SAW U STANDING THERE
I saw you standing there.
I didn't dare go near.
I knew what I had done.
Of you, I was most scared.
I watched from a hill.
I watched you wait.
Wait for someone.
Someone who would never show.
Who could it be?
You waited so long,
so intently.
It did not seem to bother you.
The hours passed and you waited.
For who?
Who was it that you wanted so badly?
Or was it that you just wanted to stand alone?
But that's not you.
I get enough courage to go see you.
To ask who you are waiting for.
I confront you.
But dont ask who it is you wait for.
Instead I run away.
Back to the spot where I watched you.
Only when I had returned you were gone.
I only saw a single rose.
I walked back down and saw a note attached.
I read it curiosly.
It was to your only love.
I could only hope that was me.
I read on.
It said that you were leaving.
Leaveing permently.
A tear fell from my left eye.
I sat down on the bench.
I thought:
I never meant to say those mean words.
I would take it all back.
I read further,
you wrote that you were sorry.
I didnt know why you would be sorry.
For it was me who wronged you.
The note continued with,
a simple I love you,
and good bye forever.
More tears began to fall.
As I weeped it started raining.
A man walking by asked if I was ok.
I simply replied "good bye sir"
I went back to where I had watched you,
the rose and note in my hand.
I smelled the sweet scent.
My favorite flower.
I sat on this hill side,
where I had seen you for the last time.
I cried more.
The rain blended with my tears.
The roses scent grew stronger.
I placed the note in my pocket.
I left this place after many hours.
I walked everywhere in the rain.
I finally arrived home.
But it wasn't right.
You weren't there,
to tell me that everything would be ok.
I began to cry again.
I layed the rose on a table.
I reached in my pocket for the note,
but it had gotten too wet and fell apart.
I fell to the floor,
and folded my arms around my knees,
where I rested my head as I cried.
The phone rang.
I gatherd my myself,
and answered the phone.
They said you were dying in the street.
I dropped the phone.
I ran to you,
held you in my arms.
I told you how I was watching you the whole time.
And that I was scared to see you
You said that you knew.
More tears came.
You told me not to cry,
that you would be in heaven soon.
I told you that I love you.
You told me you knew that too.
You then closed you eyes,
and said "good-bye my love."
I kissed you one last time,
and said"good bye,for now."
For I knew that I would soon see you again.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
Behind the closed doors of her heart,
Lies the image of a love long lost.
A love lost is a relationship gone down.
A chance lost is the cause of too many frowns.
Love and Chance, so different yet so similiar.
Him and Her, so similiarly different.
Behind the closed doors of his heart,
Are the memories of a relationship gone wrong.
Once they were lovers,
Now they are strangers.
Lovers and Strangers, so near yet so far.
Her and Him, so distantly near.
One was the sun, the other the moon.
Do opposites attract? I don't know.
Look behind the closed doors of your heart,
Search in there instead of everywhere.
In your heart, the answer fights,
Waiting to be brought to light. -

Cyber Imagination
Deep in the tunnels of my mind,
images abound,
Silky Hair and Sparkling eyes,
tempt me like the devil.
Was that pair of eyes yours?
I sure hope it is,
for none charmed me like it did.
Words flow like streams of clouds,
into my mind they went.
fogging my thoughts no end.
A vision is finally form,
and how beautiful you look.
I pondered, if this was you,
but why the heck I care?
This is how I want you,
and how you will to me.
Till we meet shall it perish,
or maybe it will stay.
"Nonetheless" I tolded myself,
you were beautiful this way.

to callan: =) you know, if you are really into poems, there is one place (a website) where people post there own poems. a whole selection of it. some are really really very nice. =) i post some of mine there too. it's actually a sort of circle. think u have to join it....but nevertheless, it's www.bolt.com hope u like that place. =) -

I'm LosT
lost in a world i can't call my own.
fearful of everything, can't find my home.
looking carefully into myself.
seeking destiny of my help.
way down inside i fear but, i don't go.
my tracks retraced themselves, for which i don't know.
a long the line, wherever it ends.
the roads can't i find with in.
two paths where i meet along where i walk.
which one to take? i fear of lost.
down those paths, where do they lead?
hope, sadness, inside of me.
face it im lost, with no where to go.
no where to run, for i am all slow.
no where to hide.
deep down inside.
i am lost, for good?
im not sure of what will happen.
in this world i don't know?
i feel like im trapped in.
how long will i wait?
for time flys so quick.
how long til u find me?
hurry! i can't take it.
i am lost, no where to go,
no where to run, or hide
forever more.

Sleepless
The heather has wither,
but my heart still beats.
Your shadow burns in my mind,
you would never just leave me alone, would you?
I drank my chardonnay,
your reflection was dismiss,
but your voice came back to me,
How careless was I, to let you sneak through.
I listen to the radio,
your singing soon fade,
Now I am finally alone again,
I wonder why I would miss you.
Sleepless unwillingly,
A thought that revolutes inside me.
A memory I cannot forget,
The night is going to be long...

A poem, that was written to describe my yearnings for world peace. Humanistic youthful individuals, there are many, but still peace did not come, if we are to united, would our strenght not be invulnerable?
Youthful Inspirations
The crimson has risen,
War cries thickens,
do we sit and wait?
NO! Cubs of the century awakes.
Built thy foundation,
douse your agitation,
with faith in our ranks,
we conquer this chaos tank!
No guns would we bear,
for we are the peaceful heir.
Mountains of hardship would we peak,
seas of success are what we seek!
Youth!
Hear the sound of unity,
Feel the warmth of harmony,
taste the buds of tranquillity,
see a vision of peace!
Just a part of me, people seldom sees.

Here is a piece of my poetry from my anthology entitled,
Reflection of a Vagabond

Where do I stand upon in this land
under this winter night
In the midst of a new beginning,
Out from the ruins I walked ahead,
Haunted by a past world where
Faced with adversities, enemies and struggle.
There is perhaps a world out there,
Where all the pain, hurt and fear
Could be washed away
By the rivers of time,
Where all past memories
Could be erased
By the water of forgetfulness
Before I stepped upon this scientific utopia,
Where I once changed the structure
and revolutionize the ideals of another world,
where my faith and determination
could move mountains and create miracles.
Perhaps haughty and egoism overtakes,
Where betrayal and treachery tore my soul apart,
The heart of an innocent lost
To the chains of love,
Like a fallen angel,
Where I sigh upon this instant of time,
at the imperfection of my heart.
There is nothing more to feel remorse nor defeated
There is neither beginning nor end,
The phase has ended in another world and
begins in another space and time
Till where my haversack will journey next,
Where I have to face new challenges and new obstacles,
Is my heart truly dead or retired
Or is that spark of fire and awe which
Will allow me to ride new storms without fear,
Just when I know that there is something to believe
Where the tapestries and weaves of my destiny

Written in 1998.....and I think that eversince U have been living this way...If u have the courage to live...Live it well....and I do hope that u can find what you have lost and regain....your once lost confidence and love...Since u have decided to go ahead...just dun look back the past and continue forward...whatever u have walked in the past is a short journey...what is ahead of u....is a great challenge for u to reveal...

The Field where I died

I stood by the field...
only to feel the whistling wind....
flow with the running waters....
dance with the swaying grasses...
experience the call of nature....
Too much beauty passed me by......
Too much uglyness swept me across...
Too much hate that could not seduce me to evil...
and too much love which I don't know whether it was true or not...
I gasped at the last breath of my life,
the beat of my heart almost come to a standstill,
My senses began to wither and slow
for the blood in my heart running low...
I want to let her go,
but all those love and hate which pervaded my mind,
all those sorrows and joy which injure my heart,
all those pain and tears which scarred my soul...
If there was a beginning,
there will be an end..
"Our lives entangled in woven threads of destiny"
If it was not meant to be now,
perhaps it shall be in the next destiny to come.
"Our love and hate trapped in this changing cycle"
If it was only a debt I need to pay,
it has definitely be over by now...
"for you will always remain a special place in my heart"
Perhaps, the field where I died...
was only to tell me
that this phase of my life's over
and it's time to go into the next cycle.....

My best friend, who is a budding writer, once criticised my poetry of being shallow and thinks that it is not that good... Hence I don't really think that I am that good in writing poetry. Maybe everyone is busy at the moment. I am sure, we would have new contributions if we keep the thread going...
Well, I was hoping for more feedback for the stories which I am writing actually... So that I can revamp my writing style or do some corrections.... -

without having to be a muse or a misery,
without having to be a parenthesis
(except yours),
losing myself in an unwritten paragraph,
losing myself in what you say i am.
i want to run naked, but this sentence binds me
to my bed, where i write my empty longings.

Note: I can only write when I'm sad. Sometimes it gets too tiring to keep all those strings in your life from being broken, from getting tangled up, from tripping you. Sometimes it's so tiring and the end doesn't seem to be near and you just want to erase it all and start anew. -
to maya: well, for most people, they write when they are sad too. =) coz tt's when their inspirations come.....i write when i feel like writing........but my vocab is not very good, so the words used are rather simple.......
here's one written yesterday, 13 March 2000. it's rather lengthy i must say, but do enjoy. =)

I forgave you time and again,
For all the scars you've left on me.

i hid in the darkest corners,
trying just to get a peek at you.

i do enjoy them. don't berate yourself by saying your poems are bad =)
i really admire people who can write love poems that are not trite. sadness have so many words to choose from, love, meanwhile, seems to go about the same old set of vocab again and again.
