I get the distinct feeling that you were being sarcastic.
But never mind, I did truly enjoy your story. There was a strong hint of realism from the modality in which the lingua franca was appropriated. And of course the introduction of a romantic rival enhances the poignancy of pain and disillusionment. However, questions of its 'real life' truthfulness and the word length are something for only Maya to consider.
