WHY BOTHER TO LOVE?

Is that really the definition of love for all of you?
If love hurts so much....cause so much heartpain, why do we bother to fall in love?
Most animals bypass the tedious dating ritual and head straight for integrating their genitals — penguins and whales notwithstanding. One thought is that we unconsciously bind to someone whose genetic material is similar to ours — someone who seems familiar, and often looks somewhat like members of our own family. This would explain why Mick Jagger marries women with large heads, most notably first wife Bianca, who could be his twin sister. Take a closer look at that picture of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt on the newsstand — two people, one jaw. They are like mirror images with a gender change. Other times, the similarities are more subtle — full lips, full dark hair — but they're there if you look for them.
So if you have any opinons of love ...tell me or do you agree by what i have said???

hmm..i guess people tend to look for gf/bf who are compatible...characterwise and also appearance.. -
Now, if love is painful, and tortures us so, why do we love? Why is it
all we search for in life? This pain, this agony?
Why is it all we long for? This torture, this powerful death of self? Why?
The answer is so simple cause it's...LOVE. It is such an addictive
that even people who are not having it wish to experience and share it
with someone.
