Willow the koala is a resident at Symbio Wildlife Park south of Sydney.
The Park was in the midst of capturing footage of a monarch butterfly resting on a flower.
But Willow wanted her share of the limelight - the joey came bounding over to see what all the fuss was about.
Curious about her newfound friend, Willow lets the butterfly rest on her nose and takes it with her as she claws over tree branches.
Symbio Wildlife Park’s marketing manager said Willow has always been more affectionate and independent than the other koalas, but that didn’t prepare them for the incredible sight.
Kevin Fallon told the ABC: “Before we knew it, it actually flew onto Willow's head and then stayed there for ages.
“We just never thought in a million years that would happen and Willow's reaction would be so priceless.”
Willow is one of seven koalas living in the park in Helensburgh.
She was born almost a year ago and has been the apple of their eye ever since.
Mr Fallon said: “She's an absolutely adorable little girl and just loves people.”
