Many of you here are civil servants or working in GLC linked companies. Talk so much, kpkb but will still send PAP back into parliament. I'm not going to say things like "no balls", "lip service", "talk is cheap" lol....because it's your rice bowl.....do what you have to do.
Come 7 May, I won't be surprised if PAP secures another "mandate" and then another 5 years of crap and bullshit....and being talked down to. Then you people gonna kpkb again....and when elections come....vote PAP.
I just feel so sorry for Singapore.
THEY HAVE TO....they havent much related skills and if they get thrown out fer voting otherwise...the pvt sector wont employ them....and the public or stat board wont employ them either.....they could end up as a fisherman in the end ..they might even starve to death.
they know pvt sector isnt kind and as generous as their sector.
The votes are secret. IF the PAP ever gets found out they were tracking votes, then a lot of heads at PAP will roll, their international standing will dip - I really think the risk is too much for the PAP to take to try tracking the votes. They will have zero credibility henceforth. I know someone who voted oppo and still got her job and got promoted at a government place.
that wat happen now 1 of the goverment worker join the OPP party. see how GOh is shotting at him ???
According to the Election Dept, it said that tracking is only in theory, may or may not be able to track. Have not try yet since the first election.
Anyway, do you how much manpower is needed to try out this theory. This election alone alot of manpower needed. You think they are going to waste 1000 staff to sift through millions of voting slips. Where are they going to do it, need a big open space and lots of transportation also. All this just to find out who you or your family or friends voted for. Must be crazy right. Would you do it yourself logically?
The appropriate way is to use computation like you do in school or University to derive an estimation. The number of voters in a constituency is fixed. The percentage of votes is also known. The boundary of the constituency also known. From the estimation, it will give you a map segmented by constituencies and their boundary. There would some with better percentage and some lower. Just redraw the boundary base on these estimates you would be assured a balance spread of voters. That's why you see there is always changes in boundary. Don't believe just check with your friends, some don't even know which constituency they belong to as it keep changing.
As expected :) For a political tsunami to really happen, crowds have to throng stadium rallies in the region of 30-50 thousand. If you see a few thousand people attending an opposition rally, then you knw there's no hope liao.
No wonder PM was so confident of a good showing. They had 80 out of 82 seats in parliament prior to this, now they still have 80 seats, albeit out of 87. It's an outright victory for them despite their loss. And PM has the highest mandate out of any GRC, so it's a sweet victory for him still. No complaints for me....I pretty much expected it. And as a resident of Aljunied, it can only be good news cos both PAP and WP will be fawning all attention on us.

Hello I work in a GLC and had already decided on 27th April who to vote and yesterday without any hesitation I crossed on box beside the sun symbol. I managed to convince my wife to vote nichole seah, but unable to convince my in laws as they are afraid of their votes been traced. BTW I am not voting in the same GRC as my wife.....
Congratulations on Aljunied's and Hougang's win by WP - great fight!
We, arrogant PAP supporters thanked all sincere voters. And also thank you to all "compassionate" voters of PAP despite their "kpkb", rebukes and shoutings in this forum to the arrogant PAP supporters.
please lah.
singaporeans are brought up that way. complain a lot but never take action. from the street i heard a lot of people said, 'vote for opposition'. but then we all know. all want opposition to win but not in their own ward.
typical behaviour.
the results is not unexpected. its over so just accept it and move on.

good for you dude :) But there are many closet civil servant PAP voters who whine and whine about them all year long.
There is not much diference from all previous elections.
Only the Aljunied GRC drama and Chiam's gambit were new.
Turn out at rallys do not mean anything.
The old pattern of voting is still there, roughly two third/one third. Two third PAP/ one third Opposition.
Ten person repeatedly kpkb in sgF about PAP have zilch effect on the elections.
At least, this time, a GRC is won. Even if small, it is still a breakthrough.
Singaporeans... most of them ... are just cowards.
But... don't forget... even the most unworthy coward... can become a hero... when he feels his life and all he loves is endangered.
