PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Friday night acknowledged that the People's Action Party government is not perfect and has slipped up from time to time.
Addressing a PAP rally at the Yio Chu Kang stadium in Ang Mo Kio GRC, where his six-member team is being contested by the Reform Party, Mr Lee said: 'The PAP government is not perfect. I would be the first to acknowledge that. We made mistakes, we have slip-ups from time to time.
'Things don't always turn out the way we want them to turn out - whether in capturing Mas Selamat, making sure Orchard Road doesn't flood or other problems.
'Things sometimes go wrong. When they do, what must we do? We must apologise, acknowledge, put it right, learn from the lessons and try not to make the same mistakes again.
'But I think overall, we have got things right more often than we have got things wrong, and that is why Singapore has got here today. And to continue to prosper, Singapore needs to get the best government, the best team that it can put together.'
