How many here can vote?

How many here are above 21 and going to the polls for the first time this GE?
I see quite a nbr of kids in here so just curious.
I voted in the presidential elections , GE 2001 and GE 2006 and now GE 2011.
For those who say they fear , there is nothing to fear.
The polling station staff are quite friendly and they will not harass u in anyway. As for people shouting out your name and IC number , i cannot recall such a thing happening. After the staff cross out your name and gives u a slip , go to the station and casts ur vote.
Very fast one la. Once done u will be ushered out and your duty is done.
Thats it! whats the fuss all abt?

Of course the polling staff are friendly, they are all civil servants activated for the call of duty. They get paid more than 400 bucks for a day's work, they also get paid for rehersals too.
How I know? My mom do before mah.

Shiok right? Actually every polling station is 2 shifts, morning and afternoon, so that's more than 400 bucks for half a day's work.

After their station duties , on polling day still need to go to the centres go count votes ? or they have another grp to do tat?
i find counting votes is the most siong!!!!!!!! i wouldnt wanna do it for 400 haha

who cares lah. There will be so many people voting for opposition. How are they going to track them all?

Whether PAP can track, or whether PAP cannot track.
Whether Lee Kuan Yew knows that you voted for opposition or whether Lee Kuan Yew knows nothing, all of us, every single one of us, we the proggressive forces of Singapore must vote fearlessly, we must vote bravely, we must vote boldly for change in Singapore.
We have a duty to defend Singapore from bad government.
We have a duty to those who are still young to vote or cannot vote.
We won't shy away to vote out those who betrayed our interests and are selling out Singapore.
We must vote for change.
PAP must be voted out on May 7.

i scared leh.. u never know what PAP is capable of.. they are always not transparent with their policies one... and they always do what they can to weed out people who oppose them... if want to be sg citizen, must guai guai and say yes to everything PAP says, then you will be safe... we must serve the government la, not the government serve us.. sob sob..

Even more the PAP must be voted out.
PAP is just a paper tiger, no one in Singapore supports them.
No one can be bothered with their rallies, no one can be bothered with their propaganda.
They are so useless that they must stoop to schemes like GRC to field useless people into parliament.
PAP is just a paper tiger, push them a bit and they will collapse like a house of cards.
We must boldly step forward and vote out the PAP on May 7.

Voted once many many moons ago, then a walkover and now vote again.
I have waited so long to see so many parties who can talk well, talk sense, with a sense of humour that make me ROFL loud and have a passion for the future of Singapore.
Last time, i was too young to think. Now i can when faced with realities around me.
Should we give PAP Renewal ? lols....

I love Singapore with my whole heart. I used to sing with pride during National Day with the anthem and Singapore songs.
Then for the past few years, i started to cry when i sing on National Day because i see so many changes in Singapore that i miss my old Singapore. I cried because i felt very sad. What had happened to my country ? Why so much had changed in a short span of 5 years ?
I don't feel proud anymore of being a Singaporean. I feel sad.

Nope. However, there is a serial number on the polling card. This is to prevent people from throwing in unknown votes in. =)
But my guess is they do know the percentage of votes in each and every polling station of a GRC, but not to whom voted for PAP and whom did not.
Even if they can, 2.2 million voters, do u think they will bother tracking down each and every single voter?
Anyway, 33.3% voted opposition in the last elections, have your relatives or friends gone missing after the elections? -
This will be my 7th poll. So far so lucky get to vote everytime since the 1st in Anson in 1984. Get to vote for Worker Party again this election.

I work in a GLC as software manager and also my friends whom they are from Navy officers or A*Star and we can proudly say we are not afraid to vote opp cos i know my vote is 100% secret as this is confirmed from people from election department and in tonight rally at serangoon stadium, Sylvia Lim also mentioned it.The only thing PAPAYANs know is the percentage of ppl voting for ruling party and opposition in a particular polling station and that is why they can draw new electoral boundaries. So what if PAPAYANs know also, can they jail me for a crime???

It's compulsory to vote , isn't it ? Now we vote and they sent us to jail?
Then i can assure you, the more people get jailed, the more they will bounce higher and vote for a change in the future.
