GE: Tanjong Pagar GRC unlikely to be contested
SINGAPORE: The Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency led by Singapore's Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew is unlikely to see a contest from the opposition.

Mr Ng Teck Siong, Mr Mohamed Nazem Suki, Mr Ng Pian Ying, Lim Mie and Abdullah Salam were planning to stand in the GRC.
But in a statement, the team said they are unable to move forward and contest in the constituency.
The team says this is due to a shortage of funds and the last minute withdrawal of support for two candidates from the Singapore Democratic Alliance.
The team added it is too late to find replacement candidates.
The members expressed disappointment as they feel "this GRC is supposed to be the best chance" for them to contest.
The opposition parties in Singapore had wanted to contest all seats in the upcoming general election.
Nomination day is on Wednesday while polling will take place on May 7.

Someone should contest in Tanjong Pagar to tie down Lee Kuan Yew, otherwise he will be free to meddle in other areas.

The A team from opposition should be made up of leaders from opposition party. Then this A team will then be able to take down Tanjong Pagar GRC.

Actually, the old man is the weakest link.
Some party should challenge TP and made the old man work.
Maybe he expired before the polling day.

Tanjong Pagar GRC would have been contested if radin mas wasn't carved out of it. Good foresight by the PAP there.

Sekali, end of the day, the only difference is potong pasir lost one seat back to PAP. I'm not saying it will happen, but there is always a possibility.
