SINGAPORE: Alex Tan,
who is on loan from the Singapore People's Party (SPP) to the Reform
Party (RP), told Channel NewsAsia that he will likely be part of the
Reform Party team which is keen to contest Prime Minister Lee Hsien
Loong's Ang Mo Kio GRC.
Mr Tan said the paper work has not been
done yet but he will officially join the Reform Party once a
confirmation is made that it will contest Ang Mo Kio.
Mr Tan said the purpose of contesting at Ang Mo Kio is to prevent a walkover and give residents the chance to vote.
He
refuted claims by some that the move to contest the GRC is a tactic to
keep the Prime Minister busy during the polls and to allow him less time
to help other PAP candidates at other wards.
He said, "The PM
has been doing a good job but he needs a report card", adding that the
percentage of votes Mr Lee gets will be a gauge of his performance in
the last five years.
Another SPP member on loan to RP - Mr Jay Ting, is also expected to be part of the RP team hoping to contest Ang Mo Kio GRC.

See what I mean when I said musical chairs.
He really move around to lend his support to the mps.
Good move from RP to contest there to contain him....but there is still one person that can go around...his father.
RP might stand no chance at all, including the deposits money. But it is an encouragement sign from RP to let the resident have the chance to vote.
Wont lose deposits one, dont worry, unless there are 3 corner fights in AMK GRC.

If it cannot hit a certain percantage of votes, can kiss goodbye to his deposit.

I hope to see a narrow win....that will make the pap sweat out man!
I'd say they'll get less than the last one, under 30%.
55 vs 45?

Going by what you said.....
If all PAP ministers lose their seats in their respective GRCs but all still remain as ministers, then what is the purpose of election?

So there is a chance James Gomez, can become our finance minister? *gasp*

THATS CUZ OF WALKOVER IN MOST DISTRICTS.
No, it was 82 out of 84 seats still PAP.
Now we have 2 walkover, meaning they have won a few seat already.
Walkover for pap means people support pap.
OK, Alex managed to raise the money. W'll have to wait till tomorrow 12pm for the outcome!
