Is this a case of bad publicity is still publicity?
At least now some people know what their potential MPs look like.

If any opposition party was doing this, they would be banned from contesting the elections.
Forever.

You know COE is never included in these contests which involve a car.
How much do you think the COE for a Lexus costs?

neesoon.org iPad giveaway contest halted
By Imelda Saad | Posted: 20 April 2011 1910 hrs
SINGAPORE: A contest
which offered residents a chance to win an iPad if they connect with a
website set up to raise the profile of PAP candidates for the new Nee
Soon Group Representation Constituency (GRC) has been suspended with
immediate effect.
Residents were asked to name the five "familiar
faces" seen on neesoon.org. The website is fronted by PAP's potential
candidates for Nee Soon GRC in the coming General Election.
They are Patrick Tay, K Shanmugam, Lim Wee Kiak, Muhammad Faishal and Lee Bee Wah.
Channel NewsAsia broke the story about the marketing initiative on Tuesday.
The initiative has raised questions about whether it contravenes election rules.
A
post on the site now says the contest is suspended since Parliament has
been dissolved. The contest will resume on the same terms after the
election.
Dr Lim had said the initiative is an "outreach
programme" for residents to know what's happening in their ward and to
get to know the candidates better.
He added it is simply a
contest to get the public to visit the website and that the team is not
giving out freebies to entice voters to vote for the party or
candidates.
The Elections Department says the Parliamentary
Elections Act comes into effect once the writ is issued, meaning
political parties can campaign only after the nomination of candidates
has closed.
The law though does not clearly spell out if this particular initiative constitutes Internet election advertising.

so confident.
Haha.. they scared somebody stomp... quickly take it down.. else opposition party got a chance to say something....
I'm pretty sure our opposition is not so low class to resort to low blows their opposition on meeny miny things.
Instead of wasting time on picking faults with the other party, HIGH CALIBRE candidates should find the opportunity to address issues which citizens have and are bringing up.
are they going to say its a honest mistake?
or some cheap moral MP using some cheap tactics?
