SINGAPORE : The opposition Socialist Front will not be contesting in the upcoming General Election.
The
party's Secretary General, 37-year-old lawyer Chia Ti Lik, said there
are too many multi-cornered fights this time round and the party does
not want to split the opposition vote.
He added that the party also does not endorse the Non-Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) scheme.
He
said the party feels the scheme will be used as an excuse by the ruling
party to convince the electorate that there is no pressing need to vote
in opposition candidates.

good choice
wise.
It is a choice that benefitted Sinkaporeans, something that the major parties should be ashamed of themselves for not giving way to each other.
It is a great sacrifice for a small party that might not even survive for the next five years.
Actually they should have discussed with KJ. KJ and Steve C should avoid 3 way fights when its known they are likely to win if its a 2 way fight.. should have tried Hong Kah North SMC.

It's a gracious retreat. At least they don't want spoil the chance. Let's hope the other parties can settle their differences to avoid 3 corner fights before nomination day.
They should build up their strength first before attacking the PAP regime.
Workers Party pretty strong this time.
NSP should field a proper team at Tampines - 2 scholars, GMS, a Malay candidate and the lawyer. Avoid 3 way fights.
they fighting n wasted years over a street side territory??!!!!damn...they must have calculated n found that by time they be PM everyone would be 100 years old.
SF hasn't done much at all all this while. If they had contested, I doubt they would win anything.
What do they stand for? What are their plans for singaporeans? Who are their key members? What activities have they done? Chia Ti Lik is more of an activist than pragmastist. Better not contest.
relatively young party
good decision if u tink ur party not ready
