SINGAPORE: Prime
Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Singaporeans should think carefully and
calmly about the long-term future during the upcoming General Election.
He said this on the sidelines of a community event in Ang Mo Kio on Sunday.
"Whatever
emotions that are aroused during that period, calm down, detach
yourself, think carefully before you vote - which is why we have a
Cooling-off Day before Polling Day. So I think in that same spirit, we
really should take things in our stride," he said.
In response to
a question from a reporter on whether there has been too much hype over
the election, Mr Lee noted that newspapers are "getting a bit
breathless".
"And when it comes, it comes. And before it comes, know that it's on the horizon but no need to get breathless," he added.

"IT IS very daunting for them to stand in front of so many journalists and answer questions one after another', said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
While speaking to the media on the sidelines of the People's Action Party Community Foundation's 25th anniversary celebrations, Mr Lee expressed empathy for the new PAP candidates that were unveiled the past week.
When questioned on why the PAP announced its candidates for East Coast GRC on Thursday ahead of Nomination Day, Mr Lee said he supported the decision as it allowed residents to get know the new candidates better.
The news came after Senior Minister S. Jayakumar and Speaker Abdullah Tarmugi made public their intention to retire.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Lim Swee Say - from Holland-Bukit Timah GRC - and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for National Development, Mohamad Maliki Osman - from Sembawang GRC - will move to the constituency.

Because they have to memorize all the standard answers from their scripts?

PM Lee:Sgreans should think carefully about long-term future
I have been thinking extremely carefully about the long term effects of PAP rule on Singapore society.
I conclude that PAP must be destroyed.
Otherwise there won't be a future in Singapore for Singaporeans.

You vote against them some more, they build a nuclear plant near your house.
Already when people complained about the casinoes and they built 2 to shut you up.
no one bothers abt e long term future as far as how things are planned these days

After a few more years, can see that some of them will run road.
long term = more FTs...
funny isn't it
when the newer so called scholar batches takesover, every single thing gotta be evaulated through a time consuming and senseless kind of procedure to get approval (sort).
Seriously for those real experts, it takes a split second to decide can or no go

That's why they are paid so much. To build a small fortune elsewhere in case singapore sinks.
if S'poreans can see beyond their noses, PAP would have been voted out long ago !
S'poreans are like zombies.
i m sure the future is better without him
by asking us to think carefully, is he implying something? If anything, it shd be about voting the PAP out and still sustaining the governance.
People nowadays are living day to day, upgrading pay through courses don't work, pay is too low, want to quit job, but elsewhere pay is lower, want to buy houses, very expensive, want to have a meal, SVC and GST, want to retire earlier, no CPF, no savings, want to have children, no money, men and women wary of each other also.
Some people have cars and houses, maids and family but do they have enough to send children for university studies and for their own retirement? They could be already paying through their nose for everything.
Want to change the country for better, but have to kowtow to PAP, want to live quietly but so overcrowded everywhere, just like refugee camps or concentration camps depending on which hell we see.
Just what future we all have?

You need to listen to more NDP songs.
Like the 6 minute extended version of "Home".

I have even come to the conclusion that those idiots that sang all those songs are all traitors.
Some of them are millionaires but they chose to carry balls instead. What music are these kind of jerks listening to? I say all these jerks must be listening and writing a lot of rubbish, none even have the lyrisim to write something about the situation now.
Where are people like Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye and John Lennon, but then again these people might also be scared shitless when PAP unleash their ISD dogs on them.
This is a cursed country and future be damned.
The only future is that of those sick FamineLees who are only worried about themselves.
Future be damned, may they one day suffer a fate more cruel that what they made the citizens suffer.
Curse the FamineLees, a plague on their house.

Vote PAP, pay and pay and the poor now also pay. Do you want to pay and pay until you die?
Singaporeans like to pay and pay. Can this be changed? It depends on your vote.

Detach yourself? How?
Think carefully? Yes for many years now.
1) Cost of living increasing.
2) Bills increasing.
3) Ns issue (reduce to 1 yr)...
4) Children education expenses expensive.
5) Medical expenses (children and elders expensive)
I wonder if Mediacorp will show loads of documentaries on what PAP has done in the past on cooling day.
