Electoral Boundaries Report: Total of 87 seats
TWO GRCs will have four MPs each. They are Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, and the new Moulmein-Kallang GRC.
There are 11 GRCs which will have five MPs each. They are: Aljunied, Bishan-Toa Payoh, Choa Chu Kang (new), East Coast, Jurong, Marine Parade, Nee Soon (new), Sembawang, Tampines, Tanjong Pagar and West Coast.
Three of them used to have six MPs each: Marine Parade, Sembawang, and Tanjong Pagar.
Two GRCs will have six MPs each: Ang Mo Kio and Pasir Ris-Punggol GRCs.
There will be a total of 87 seats, up from the current 84.

It is a waste of money to have few mps in one grc.
Waste taxpayers money.
87 seats most likely pap will take up 85 seats.

According to ST, an MP makes around $200k/yr.
3 extra MP = extra $600k of taxpayers' money wasted.
currently we have 84 MP, but as we all know, only one of the tanjong pagar mp and to a lesser extent, the ang mo kio mp, call the shots.
therefore, the other 82 MPs are just a waste of money.
82 X $200k = $16.4m
we are spending $16.4m per yr on a bunch of yes-men. haiz.

Changes for Faber Estate Clementi transferred from Bukit Timah-->West Coast
Changes for Bedok North Estate from Marine Parade to Aljunied.

I really can't believe that.......The latest turns out to be the most strategic yet complex.....How clever it was to return the SMCs of Mountbatten and Yuhua,transforming Jalan Besar to Moulmein-Kallang GRC,taking Lui Tuck Yew as leader and Hong Kah GRC to Chua Chu Kang GRC for the first time,helmed by Gan Kim Yong....!!Nice!!!
Ang Mo Kio remains 6-member GRC,with Yio Chu Kang in addition...seperated is Sengkang West....Whampoa SMC with Heng Chee How solo,and Radin Mas for Sam Tan.....Great idea for Tanjong Pagar GRC-with Tanjong Pagar,Tiong Bahru,Kreta Ayer,Tanglin and Queenstown,whilst Moulmein-Kallang is Moulmein,Jalan Besar,Kolam Ayer,Kim Seng and Kallang...Maybe......Is Punggol East the one where Teo Ser Luck will be standing??Nee Soon GRC is consisting of Chong Pang,Nee Soon Central,Nee Soon East,Nee Soon South and ?????,I bet my life on it...Sembawang's also 5-members consisting of Sembawang,Admiralty,Marsiling,Woodlands and Canberra...If Lim Swee Say moves to Tanjong Pagar GRC with Lee Kuan Yew,could Vivian Balakrishnan the sole chief of Holland-Bukit Timah??Will Wong Kan Seng stays on in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC(hope there will never be a walkover....AGAIN!!)Macpherson no MORE!!!And so this time round WP has no chance cos Macpherson is in and instead NSP will get the credit...... -

But you forgot tat a big chunk is Jurong Industrial Estate. Sadly the MP gotta look after the Ind Est as well. -

More single seating constituencies = more opposition in the Government.
Anti-Govt supporter will be happier with more "voices".
Similarly, they increase 4-5 person group constituencies so that the percentage tilts back.
Thus, they still maintain the 95% seatings.
They are mathematical geniuses.
