THE Elections Department has completed the latest update of the electoral rolls, which can be inspected online and at specified places.
The registers list the names of citizens aged 21 and older who are qualified to be voters as of Jan 1 this year.
Singaporeans whose names are not on the registers because they failed to vote in previous elections can still apply to the department to have their names restored, said the department on Tuesday.
Voting is compulsory in Singapore.
Singaporeans abroad can also continue to register as overseas electors, doing it online at the department's website, or by submitting a form to the department or to any of the nine overseas registration centres.
But with election activity heating up, the window of opportunity for overseas voters to register or for Singaporeans to restore their names may be closing.
election coming.
They keep updating only. When you login and check... the date puts updated as of 1st jan 2011. -_-"
Guess they are updating to see whether enough new citizens to win the election or not.
Only 2,350,257 voters out of 5 mil.
More than half children, cannot vote one?
2.5 mil + voters....wonder how many voters are working for govt/civil servants.
