[color=red]Hello people, nowadays you can hear alot of people or friends saying that they are continuing with their studies. (In fact I am one of them..) Anway, is it really that necessary? Or is it because society cause us to be like this? I mean no paper quali means no earning of good $$?

Singapore gov places alot of emphasises on education and thus it has become a norm that without good paper qualification, one cannot go far....
Moreover, it depends on the company that you work in lor... some company look at one's paper qualification first before employing or promoting the staff.... however, paper qualification may not be the most important factor to another company when comes to evaluating the staff... the company might be looking for the experiences the staff has... etc etc etc

agree. it is the trend is today's society. it really depends on which company you are working in or you wish to work in.
giving the companies the benefit of doubts, the process of hiring someone is always easier based on your qualification than your abilities.
to make things more difficult, most govertment agencies or GLC only recognize certain qualifications.

It is important for a first job... subsequencely it will be mostly based on your experience... Without experience, how can we hire you based on your word? With the cert, we know there is at least a standard that you can achieve.
But if you have been following the articles in the Straits Times for the past weeks on Singapore Entrepreneurs (of the Year), you will discovered that not all of them has a degree. In fact most of them got to where they are today through sheer hardwork and the recognising the opportunities presented to them.
So if you feel that the hours you are putting in for your company is not rewarding, then maybe it is time for you work for yourself.
