Italy is in the midst of a mini-crisis after a supporter was accidentally shot dead by a policeman a little more than a week ago.
That sparked hooligan violence that has once again tarnished the image of Italian football, at a time when the country should be concentrating on celebrating their qualification for the Euro 2008 finals.
"In order to fight against violence we need fewer masters and more witnesses: many people, including politicians, talk about miraculous solutions," he told radio station Gr Parliamento.
"We are all experienced enough not to think that the national team's victory (over Scotland on Saturday) will be enough to solve our problems."
