If we can beat the teams from Pot B and C at home, and beat Team C away, and hold Team B to a draw away, we can qualify for the next stage.
I would say beating Team C away would be the hardest to do, because our away results are poor.
We did beat Iraq 2-0 at home, and held China to 0-0 draw at home, and lost to China 0-1 on a last minute penalty, so 10 points from Teams B and C is not unachievable.
Don't really dare to hope for any good result against Team A.
But any positive result against Team A would be a dream!

My dream draw is Australia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Singapore.
Why?
Because we beat Lebanon 1-0 before away , and lost to them 2-1 at home (Steven Tan scored equaliser, but Fandi should have scored winner, alas, before they scored the winner) 10 years ago. Granted the team now is different, but they seem beatable. Just my opinion.
Bahrain. We lost 2-1 to them at National Stadium in 2001, but I would really fancy facing them again.
Australia. They are the strongest team and will take points off everybody else (but hopefully not us) and leave the 2nd qualifying place wide open.
But here, any team from Pot A will do, but hopefully not Japan, because Japanese fans will outnumber Singapore fans in Jalan Besar (argh... but the plus point is having many cute Japanese girls to watch). -

According to Raddy, Tajikistan is 3 times better than when they played at National Stadium, so a creditable 1-1 draw is good enough. -

By the way, in about 5 minutes time the Japanese under 23 takes on Saudi Arabia in the pre olympics.They played like crap against Vietnam 3 days ago attacking about 6 times effectively thoughout and scoring 4 goals.3 identical heading goals from a high cross and one penalty,yes that was how Greek they were.To me the under 23 team is even more important than the senior team and I do hope SIngapore has many young FTs and local boys to fill in later. -

I can understand why people are appluading the national team. Let's face it, we have improved since Radojko Avramovic took over in 2003. We may still lose to the traditional powerhouse, but there's more hunger and passion by these men when they played. I think we don't mind our boys losing, as long as they did it playing 100%.
