Let's face it, we should be counting our lucky stars we make it here.Originally posted by gigabyte14:if they get complacent just because of an early victory, they will be praying like england later
Eh, dun like dat lah! I think we need all the support we can get! The important thing is that the team gives their best and that everyone gives them positive support...Originally posted by yellow_monkey:how sad are u singaporeans?!? when we were playing in the 1st and 2nd round, no one gave a shit. now that we are in the 3rd round, everyone starts going,'GO SINGAPORE!' even worse, some of you guys still downplay our chances.

Yes, 10 points seem reasonable.Originally posted by HyuugaNeji:Singapore should aim for 10pts in the group stage. If you have 10pts, you are more or less through to the next round, just like the champ league.

1-1 draw when some players had diarrhrea sounds good to me Tajikistan was damn lucky the lions didint have constipation.Originally posted by stellazio:1-1 draw away was poor. but hopefully we can achieve sth this time.![]()
Yo Short Ninja, how's it going?Originally posted by Short Ninja:1-1 draw when some players had diarrhrea sounds good to me Tajikistan was damn lucky the lions didint have constipation.![]()
Everything is cool here but with Osim still in Coma and bad rumors about Mr Okada coming back as coach I suddenly find myself supporting the Lions 400%Originally posted by ordinaryguy32:Yo Short Ninja, how's it going?
According to Raddy, Tajikistan is 3 times better than when they played at National Stadium, so a creditable 1-1 draw is good enough.
difficult.Originally posted by kramnave:maybe with a touch of luck we can goal 2010![]()
Yo!.. thanks for your support in singapore football....Originally posted by Short Ninja:Everything is cool here but with Osim still in Coma and bad rumors about Mr Okada coming back as coach I suddenly find myself supporting the Lions 400%
The thing was that SIngapore did score an away goal while recovering from an early strike from the tajiks so forget about their previous away games that dates back to the Malaysia Cup dayscuz everything starts with a clean sheet from stage 3.Lions have to be awesome when playing all the home games and they need the fanatical fans to see them through.
By the way, in about 5 minutes time the Japanese under 23 takes on Saudi Arabia in the pre olympics. They played like crap against Vietnam 3 days ago attacking about 6 times effectively thoughout and scoring 4 goals.3 identical heading goals from a high cross and one penalty, yes that was how Greek they were.To me the under 23 team is even more important than the senior team and I do hope SIngapore has many young FTs and local boys to fill in later.
That would have to be something like stage 5 or 6>Originally posted by hiphop2009:difficult.
we probably hav to kick new zealand's arse to get to world cup...
yeah, i hope dey do us proud!Originally posted by Short Ninja:That would have to be something like stage 5 or 6>
Right now Singapore is ready to take on stage 3
I am also a staunch supporter of Thailand and want them to go 2010.Originally posted by club18:why thailand seeded higher than singapore..
by so much somemore..
I can understand why people are appluading the national team. Let's face it, we have improved since Radojko Avramovic took over in 2003. We may still lose to the traditional powerhouse, but there's more hunger and passion by these men when they played. I think we don't mind our boys losing, as long as they did it playing 100%. Reaching this stage, something we have never done before, is already a miracle.Originally posted by boyslikegirls:don't count your eggs before they hatch. there's no point contragulating the soccer team on their "success" when they haven't even shown themselves to be asian-cup worthy. wait till we win the next few games do we then start to put our hands together.
If we look at it on paper it isOriginally posted by spike_jose:i think we will finish 3rd, cuz the saudis and uzbeks are strong teams, and uzbek have reach this stage many times, saudis ... ...
lebenon is there to be beaten! they also some what over achievers like us.
Thus, my expectation is a third place finish. any higher, the sky's the limit, is beyond the citizens wildest dreams coming true to Singapore football.
btw, the home matches will be in jalan besar right?
