WHAT IF...Steven Gerrard had score after half-time? Gareth Barry's lofted set-piece found the Liverpool Captain unmarked and with a clear shot on goal, but Gerrard dragged it wide and England's chance to kill the game was gone. Gerrard will be forgiven, as he always has been, but imagine if Frank Lampard had done it? He wouldn't be allowed back in the country

now no Frank Lampard in the starting line up see still can blame him or not for England poor performance
blaming on one player performance for the whole team performance - England Fans always pick Lampard
When he score against Germany got anyone praise him or not >? not that i know of it is sort of "Expected" to score and when he don't fans start blaming him then why not gerrard ? doesn't Gerrard have the responsibilty of scoring the goals for England too since he is one of the world best midfielder of all time and taunted as one of the best central midfielder but when he miss a Sitter no 1 blame him ?
seems like Frank Lampard is one of the most essential player in the team his performance can affect throughout the whole team and it is weird enough everytime England Draw or Lose keep blaming him for the draw/lost even when he perform decent -
They always blame everyone else except for themselves.
I mean the English team, for all their individual talents whatever, really suck as a team. -

it's funny he has the creep to mention in the press he preferred Harry over Lampard to be his midfield partner.
right now it should be Harry the one making the decision who to partner wif him. -

lampard is a better finisher than gerrard. Lampard's performance in the world cup wasnt bad. He only missed 1or2 good chances but not clear chances. Its a shame everybody put the blame on lampard just because lampard scored more goals for his club.

i think rooney caused the downfall of england again just like wat he had done at WC06. it's sad dat england fans failed to oversee this n put others as scapegoats.

IMHO, robinson should definitely be blamed. In such a crucial match where you cant afford to lose, you should palm the ball out for a corner. Robinson have palmed the ball directly in front of him, giving free goals to opponents, that it is so laughable. I think any schoolboys with a bit of predatory instinct can score such a goal when the ball is right of the goal. I bet that if i was in that position, i would have at least 50% chance of scoring, let alone a professional football. BTW, paul robinson should also have saved the penalty since he dived the right way but as you can see, paul robinson can never save a penalty as diving one direction is just a formality to him.
Gerrard should also be blamed i guess since he missed some very good chances.
McClaren should be blamed too since he shouldnt put lescott and he believe in paul robinson. -

ok la...england still got hope actually. Russia arent good. Its just they used the right tactics and got two free goals. I think russia will find it tough against the israels at away ground. Some of the russians may get bribed...
