EPL is bad football and even worse culture

And so the EPL is coming around again with all the attendant ooh and ahhs coming around too.
Then weÂ’ll have all these Brit wannabees, wearing their favorite team colors parading them as if they were really from West Ham or Tottenham, rubbing shoulders with them white guys at the pubs and watering holes as if that would make them more Brit or justify their attention to the football even more.
I was having a drink in a pub quietly on my own, when an English guy come to me and starts questioning me on the local madness for English football.
He says these things
1) heÂ’d prefer live football to televised anytime
2) That to support our local teams because thatÂ’s what football is all about-its local
3) That we donÂ’t really deserve to support the English teams cos weÂ’re not local-ie we were not born there and that many many Singapore fans of English football pick their clubs because they were successful at the of time of selection.
4) That if we the local fans were to go to say West Ham ( he is a west ham fan) and say proudly that youÂ’re a west ham fan, theyÂ’d tell you to go f**k off because you were not born there.
And the worst part is they donÂ’t even play good football ( except for Man U and Arsenal)
Me and my friend counted the average number of passes each of the top teams made (before they gave up the ball) and they come up woefully short.
Except for Man U and Arsenal, the rest can hardly hold on to the ball. Is this football?
I guess, in the end, in the final analysis, only the women have a real good reason for watching the EPL-eye candy. -
So what hes trying to say is that you got to live in London to be a fan of the EPL?

that guy must be drunk, but have you asked him, why west ham have to resort in buying foreign players, since it is a english club and why can't they just be a pure english club, doesn't it contradict what that moron has said before
only the local can support the local club, therefore, only the local players can play for their local club, it is really ironic.... then why did wayne ronney who is born in liverpool, joined manchester united? -

I got no problem with foreign fans, it's better than people with no ties to a club supporting it from here imo - it is the most commercialised league in the world so it's only natural that it'll be the most accessible, and regardless of the comparitive ability of a number of the premier league teams it's still high quality, and lets face it equating passes in a row to quality of the match is a load of bollocks. nothing's more fun to watch than a close scrapped match between lower teams - and i say that as a man united fan (who actually goes to matches i would like to add before you jump on my back)

then we got people who goes round telling others off for being a glory hunter, now we have dumb ang mo telling people not to support a team if they're non locals, but hey, just what the f is he doing in Singapore? and probably drinking away some Tiger beer whom happened to be mfg and belong to a country so far from his roots.

without us and the rest of the overseas fans supporting...they where got so much money buy big players? Will the clubs even have mega bucks tv rights in the first place if we're not even interested? I bet west ham cant even afford titus bramble without all these money..

in manchester, there are more city fans than united fans.
in liverpool, more support everton than liverpool.
go figure.
