HENRY SET FOR BARCELONA MOVE
Arsenal have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of Thierry Henry, subject to a medical and the completion of formalities.
The Spanish club’s vice-president Ferran Soriano claimed on Friday night that talks with the France striker over a move to the Nou Camp were at an “advanced” stage.
And a statement on the Gunners’ official website, www.arsenal.com, on Saturday morning read: “Arsenal Football Club can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of Thierry Henry.
“The deal is subject to a medical and the completion of formalities.”
i just a matter of times that all the old guard will left. freddie lunjberg will be next i guess.
i am just sad in the past 2 season players like vieira,pires,campbell,lauren,cole,
bergkamp has left.
who will be coming in?? -
Have to move on, Wenger keep talking about the transition period, now they're back to square 1 again.

You'd be silly looking for a Henry replacement because their quite clearly isn't one.
My 2cents is that Henry leaving and the timing is perfect for you to kick on. Im talking about Henry's time being up at Arsenal and the pretty obvious evolving of your football over the last 2 yrs.
Henry is a counter attacking teams dream. His pace, ability to beat not just one player but 2-3 players with absolute ease, his finishing and intelligence in his game made him stand out to be your talisman and undoubtedly one of the best players on the planet over 2-3yr time span.
But your game has changed, gone are the days of counter attacking and scoring goals within 15seconds of the oppositions corner. You dont have the pace in the side any more and as good as Cescs passing is it's not a patch on Bergkamps.
You've become a more patient European styled football team, who'll keep possession and control the game whilst always looking for those clever triangles and through balls. What you'll now get IMO is a more conventional striker, someone who'll play on the shoulder ala Crespo making clever runs across the pitch etc. Henry just doesn't fit that mould of player.
You'll be stronger next season no doubt but not because of any supposed galvanising effect on the team but more because you'll have the right player who'll be perfectly suited to the new style of play.
Something that you gunners have to worry about is whether Arsene is staying. -

This seems like the Viera saga part 2. Let the players go before they totally lose their touch. Henry has been injury-prone for a while now, and just doesn't look really fit for the Captain role for Arsenal. Much like when Viera also started losing his interest.

But Henry will be missed, at least in the beginning of the new season.
And I dun think Wenger will buy any world class players. Only those "talented potential youngsters" who are of no use in the near future. -

remember Sheva left AC Milan? or Owen left Liverpool? the clubs did well n won the UCL cup the following season.
even Man Utd did well this season to win EPL champion when RVN left them.
so it may be blessings in disguise.
wat i worry most is whether Wenger will commit to the club. i feel wat the club need now is get Dein back! -
I'm not an Arsenal fan, but I'm quite disappointed to hear of his departure from the EPL, which is still my favourite football league in the world.
I believe that he, more so than any other player, has brought class and talent to the English game and attracted thousands if not millions more viewers.
Muhammed Ali described himself as "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee", but I think this is more apt to describe Henry's silky skills, lightning pace and immaculate finishing, which has made him one of the best players in the world in the last decade.
May he flourish in Spanish football, if the deal is done. He will be a great loss to the English game and ....esp to Arsenal.

Henry's departure may affect team morale. It could also be the foreshadowing of Wenger's own exit.

Yep, how demoralizing it will be for all the young guns who used to looked up to their talisman.
Another season of transition. Better pray for Van Persie to stay fit, and Adebayor to improve on his finishing.
