JAKARTA, Indonesia: Fazrul Nawaz led Singapore to a 1-0 victory against Indonesia Sunday with a goal from the penalty spot in a friendly match ahead of the 2007 Asian Cup.
The host team slightly dominated the game at Jakarta's 110,000-capacity Gelora Bung Karno soccer stadium, with Singapore forced to play with 10 players after Haris Harun was expelled in 36th minute after receiving two yellow cards due to foul play.
However, all of Indonesia's chances failed in the final touches.
Nawaz scored the only goal of the game in 3rd minute from a penalty kick after striker Agu Chasmin was felled by Indonesia's goalie Ferry Rotinsulu.
It was Indonesia's second friendly match as part of its preparation for the July 7-29 Asian Cup — to be jointly hosted by Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.
In the first match Friday, it defeated Hong Kong 3-0.
