Gordon Cowns says Aston Villa's new £13 million training complex is the envy of the Premiership.
Cowans, now 48 and a highly respected youth coach at the club for whom he played over 400 league games, believes the new facilities will help attract the best players to the club.
"It is absolutely fantastic - brilliant. No cost has been spared. They have gone to town and it is absolutely awesome," said Cowans. "It is going to help the manager attract players."

Aston Villa chief executive Richard FitzGerald has promised fans only "top class" signings during the summer.
"Our number one objective is to have a winning team and for that you need winning players and winning players need to be treated correctly,'' he said at the launch of the club's new training facilities.
"I certainly hope it's a real statement of the club's ambition. If you bring someone here, then clearly this is a deciding factor.
"It's a very important part of the overall package as a player, not only in attracting new players but retaining the ones we've got." -
