Why singapore act as if epl is the only league in the world?

EPL seems to be on everyone's lips come every saturday ... Its an integral part in our sporting community here,ppl here know nuts about primera liga , italian league,let alone s-league...If u flip open our local newspapers today ,its all epl,epl,epl...our very own league sees no daylight...And the local media always report stories in the epl club's perpective,eg. Instead of headlines reading"Real madrid triumphs over man utd" , its "Man utd disappointing against real madrid"...
An average football fan in singapore sometimes seem to forget they're singaporeans...I mean , if u simply ask anyone wat's their favourite club , they will name man u ,liverpool ,arsenal(all english),they jus complain about the lack of quality in singapore football ...Is this wat a 150 years of colonial rule did to us?

firstly cause the coverage of other leagues pales in comparison to epl.
2nd, their timings are kinda off for most of us

and america... cuz they r 2 of the biggest markets in the world... and if they really like their fans in asia , why dun they come play asia too play live for us?So much for the support of die-hard manu,liverpool etc fans...
