Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd is convinced they would be out of the dropzone if Marlon King had been fit this season.
"Our season would have been much different if Marlon had been available," said Boothroyd.
"We haven't had a player who can score goals for us and with a goalscorer you can play very poorly and win. We have played very poorly and not won.
"When you don't score goals, as a game goes on or as a season goes on, there is always an inevitability that someone will score at your end because of the quality we face every week.
"But if you do score a few goals early you can get some momentum going. Nobody has turned us over massively so I do think it could have been a lot different.
"I would say it is not fair to put it all on Marlon's shoulders, nor is it fair to say the other players haven't applied themselves.
"They have done and are doing as much as they can." -
i really hope west ham would stay up.
but thats not really a bright future for them. -
West Ham to go down , with the incompetent manager ( lucky win against blackburn) , they will be forced to sell most of their stars.

I am hoping , fingers cross that Newcastle will go down. I cannot stand Glenn Roeder , he thinks he is a top manager , talking like as if he is in the same league as Benitez, SAF and Arsene Wenger.
Realistically, I think Wigan or Charlton will go down. -
I was hoping Newcastle will go down too becoz i cant stand their incompetent chairman

Pardew has full Charlton squad available

Charlton Athletic boss Alan Pardew has a full squad to choose from for today's clash with Reading.
"It's an added bonus that everybody is fit for Monday," said Pardew. "Ben Thatcher will be available and Matt Holland and Bryan Hughes have trained with us and should also be available."
He continued: "The work that the players have put in has got us out of the relegation zone and we couldn't have asked for more than that two months ago.
"The important thing is not to rest on those laurels and take it into the Reading game as a platform to give us some distance from the bottom as quickly as possible."
Charlton are now unbeaten in five games, having collected 11 points and an impressive four clean sheets. -
i'm going for wigan sheffield utd n watford to drop..... west ham n charlton must stay up.. not if, the likes of darren bent, reo-coker, tevez, zamora, a.ferdinand n many others top players within these 2 clubs, might end up playing somewhere else next season...

Realistically, I think Wigan or Charlton will go down.
Roeder may have taken a mediocre side into the Uefa Cup, but he should not let that swell his ego. Then again, I think Fulham or Wigan should drop one division instead of Newcastle. There are just too many London and Northwest clubs in the top flight. -

If Preston can come up, I hope Wigan gets demoted. Too many clubs from the same region makes the league boring. That's my reason for hoping the Blades can continue to represent Yorkshire on the premiership ladder.
My prediction: Watford, Wigan/West Ham and Charlton/Fulham. -
fulham now are like southhampton in the past.....always relegation threatened but everytime just has about enough quality to stay in prem.......that's what i like about them...

Wigan boss Jewell suspends all contract talks

Wigan Athletic boss Paul Jewell has put all new contract talks on-hold as they battle against relegation.
"We have got a few players out of contract at the end of the year and we haven't spoken because the only thing on our mind at the moment is staying in the Premiership," he said.
"Contracts will be put on the back burner until we know our fate."

Ambrose: Charlton full of confidence for relegation battle

Winger Darren Ambrose says Charlton Athletic have the self-belief required to beat the drop.
The Addicks hold a slender one-point lead over the bottom three following Monday's goalless draw with Reading at The Valley.
Ambrose said: "Everyone gave 110% and it was a bit disappointing not to get the three points, but the draw pushed us away from the bottom three.
"Maybe it was a chance missed, but now it is all about looking forwards."
The winger, 23, added: "Seven or eight weeks ago, no-one would have expected us to be out of the relegation zone now and with it all to play for.
"We have done fantastically well to get into this position and now we just need to push on to try to get a few more results - two or three more wins and that will be all we need."
By the time they walk out at Goodison Park, Charlton could well be back in the relegation zone if the Blades beat Pardew's old club West Ham.
Everyone at The Valley, though, is focused on what they can achieve rather than what the teams around them may do.
Ambrose said: "We do not tend to look at the table overall - we have our own mini-league within the bottom six and we want to be winning that because then we will be in the Premiership again next season.
"At the moment we are, so hopefully we can carry that on.
"We are just concentrating on the next match now - every one of them will be like a cup final. That is how we are treating it.
"We will be going out all guns blazing to try to win."
Former Ipswich and Newcastle winger Ambrose returned to the starting XI last night having overcome a series of niggling injuries.
He had struggled to hold down a first-team place under both former head coaches Iain Dowie and then Les Reed but now he is enjoying his football again.
He said: "The mood has changed totally under the new boss - he is so enthusiastic and is a winner. That is coming across on the pitch with the players." -

New Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez admits he will be changing the methods of predecessor Chris Coleman.
Sanchez has signed to the end of the season and was unveiled to the local media yesterday.
He said: "I met the Chairman on Tuesday night as part of my interview. Basically his words were he appoints the Manager and gives them every chance to be successful and it's down to them to prove they can be. That was the discussion and I'm happy with that.
"I've been to Craven Cottage a few times this season to see Fulham play. Fulham is a very welcoming Club with a traditional stadium played in a very modern Premiership. From what I've seen off the field the Club is at the cutting edge of what modern Premiership football is about. Now, on the field, we've got to accumulate the points to make sure we're here next season.
"It's about coming in and changing things. The Manager's job is to point the players in the direction you think they can be successful. Ultimately, whether they're successful or not depends if the players take that on board and do as you ask. I'd like to think in the two previous jobs I've done they've taken that on board and they've seen the benefits. There are no great secrets to football, from top to bottom. It's about making sure the basics are right and the players know what they are doing and doing it to the enth degree.
"Different managers have different ways of doing things. We all have our individual traits and I'd like to think if the ones I like to work on can be brought here then they'll be successful. The only thing I will say is that they've been successful where I've been before."
