i feel u cant compare ferdinand with those two. they are ifferent types of players. u dont normally see ferdinand staying back all the time and make a saving tackle right?
similarly, u dont see terry or carragher showboating in defence, trying to start attacks.
you made the best point.
Terry, carragher are defenders that just defends. In short, they will put their bodies where it hurts as long as they do their job. And they are good @ it.
Rio is another breed. Those who will ball at their feet can do other things like distribution, but also the ones with the most risks cause if they slip, they risk everything.
In terms of the former, Terry and Carragher are good defenders. Terry may have a nose lead in that he scores goals, but lately, not. But Carragher is one with uncomprising defender. But both their weakness, is speed.
I rem, Henry running circles around Carragher.
As for Rio, he can be your best defender or the worst. Cause he tends to overplay.
Another name I would like to throw into the hat is Wes Brown. He is pacey, uncomprising, and yet cool. However, injury prone.
What about King or Campbell on their best days? They are good also, right?
