with lennon and dyer(if possible walcott) running on the left and right of the main striker -
i thought england could only play 4-4-2.
playing 3-5-2 with crotica flopped pretty badly and 4-3-3 was experimented and was bad.
14 shots, 10 on goal, 0 goals proves that england has the depth, just that they lack on the finishing..
england has all the good players, but the wrong manager IMO

Stick to 4-4-2
Drop lampard and stick with hargreaves and gerrard in the centre. Gerrard i feel will be more productive through the middle instead of on the wing.Right side just use becks/lennon.
Something is very strange also....their english domestic league aka EPL's style is fast and physical...but the current england team arent showing that? -
i will ask them not to waste time.

For me, change the manager will do, any formation also can as long as they start to win games. For U21, if they can play in any major league they will be able play in any level. It is how they spot the talent and put them in good use not thinking that they r superstar from megateam then put them in, this is very stupid kind of managemant.

in every good team, you need to have a characteristic.
for example france, they have pace and power with their strikers and strong athletics, spain, they are very technical and their passing and vision is great.
what the hell is england good for?
they just play square balls and are completely clueless on what to do. so i say if they want to build a winning team, build a team with width, trickery and dynamictism. lennon, downing and gerrard can help england win. pump long balls and hope they have someone like peter croach to get onto the end of it. its like a game of averages nowadays.
and oh yes. maclaren is ball-less to drop big name players like lampard. -

On LB , Ashley Cole is ok .
On middle of the park , Gerrard and Hargreaves
On right ...... let's recall Becks
On left ..... let's go for that Boro's left winger , he's the best left-footer .
Striker : Crouch and Johnson . -
micah richards is better den neville. just lacking experience.

Neville will be due for retirement soon so it would be better for richards to gain experience. I thought that Defoe is better than johnson and rooney in yesterday's game, at least he created alot of threats
