Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will sell Craig Bellamy at the end of this season after last week's Portuguese controversy.
The Times says although the manager was already giving consideration to offloading Bellamy and a number of other players, the Wales forward's latest brush with authority has effectively sealed his fate.
Aston Villa are understood to remain keen on signing the Wales international.

Villa, Blackburn ready to take Bellamy off Liverpool hands tribalfooball.com - February 19, 2007
Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers are leading a stampede of clubs anxious to do business with Liverpool for firebrand Craig Bellamy.
The Sun says Villa boss Martin O'Neill will make an £8million move for the player.
O'Neill took Bellamy on loan for Celtic two years ago after the player's fall-out with then- Newcastle boss Graeme Souness.
O'Neill was delighted with Bellamy's return of nine goals in 15 games and thought about making a move for the 27-year-old in last month's transfer window.
O'Neill will face stiff competition from Blackburn though - the club Bellamy quit for Anfield last summer.
Rovers boss Mark Hughes helped Bellamy relaunch his career following his controversial departure from Newcastle.
