I think Nakata is definately overated but Shinji Ono is still young and led the Urawa Reds to victory in the J-league. I think he's got a food future and will be on the Japanese team for long time (bar injury)

There are a lot of good players in Japan,the only problem is that there are also a lot of bad managers and coaches.If you put the late Uncle Choo...sure Japan can win one but Instead they had Zico (pronounce as Jiko which means accident in Japanese) and then they called the team Blue Samurai........such a sad sad name.Now the manager is Osim but these days its more like Bo-sim no mood like that.....sooner or later Singapore also can draw or beat nippon.Foreign Talent needed.

Yes,Japan has foreign talent not only in soccer but other sports as well, the moment you get citizenship you are NIHONJIN but when you stopped representing the country you become GAIJIN (pariah) again.There is an elite secondary school that take in talented sports people from all over the world.The mongolian grand sumo champ was from this school and so were former Brasilians Alex Santos & Tulio (soccer) currently there is one 14 year old stirker from Africa,he should be ready in the next World Cup.Good local players and Foreign talent are like chess pieces,they have their own strength and weakness.The coach/manager must know how to utilise them.By the way did Noh Brain Alam Shah say he felt pity for Laos and didnt want to score after putting in 7 goals? RUBBISH!!Where got striker feel pity one?? or a lion who refuse to eat meat.Too much drama lah....better re-focus or esle sure to kena hantam by Malaysia.Oh sorry,now back to Japnese soccer.

Shinji ono got good ball control but very inconsistent.One day he play like a Brasilian next day he play like Changkat Changi Secondary School.So its Shinji *believe when he plays well and Ono *OH NO!! when he shoots like Lampard.By the way I taught Nakata English when he was in Junior High School many years ago.A quiet kid shy with the girls but hardworking in soccer,very good then but never extraordinary....unti later years.Who would believe that a low profile student like him would now have a dozen luxury cars park in his garage?

Yes Nakamura is currently making headlines with his vision and free kicks.The Celtics is giving him all the opportunity to built his own confidence and his head is still growing and growing.J-league players will anything to make the National Team but once inside they fizzle out.I feel Osim should bring back a few of the lau chiaw players and put eye drops in his eyes and beg some of them to come back. He is not as lazy as Zico...cho bo lan get paid and screwed up the National Team back to S-league level,this coach will do better but Japan can never be number one in Asia again

actually guys.... i still prefer kazuyoshi Miura..... he is japan record scorin holder and so far no one broke it(i think still stands)...n i think he is also e first japanese player to be outside of j league n italian league.....altou he didnt really shine much at genoa fc....

Yeah, gotta admit Shinji is a little bit inconsistant but look how many injuries he's had especially in Europe.
