I am always surprised when in the round up, the commentators would mentioned 30+ goals scored over the weekends..
a) is EPL overall quality improved that they are scoring at free will?
Are the strikers are just plain killing the defenders?
b) is it down to the technology that is going into the plays?
Cause alot of clubs are using technology to their advantage.
c) does the ball plays an advantage?
For example, when you see Drogba's wonder strike against Everton, the ball seems to be moving all over the place or Ronaldo's free kick, the ball seems to be drip near the end.
Gone are the days when you see 0-0 or 1-0 but now it seems we are often entertained by high scoring.
Who would have predicted a 6-2 scoreline for Arsenal against Blackburn?
In a nutshell, is the quality that high now? or some other factors?
generally defenders in EPL are below standard.
for me, I believe technology has played a big part.
like what I heard, Jose is one who goes to great length to know the enemy.
he screens their play, devise their own plans.
And I believe technology aided him alot.
That's why teams know their strength and weakness as well as the next opposing team.
Imagine, when studies can show how much ground a footballer covers, their favourite strike rate, where they position, how they make their runs...
simply fanastic.
