It is exactly the rivalry between Singapore and Malaysia that makes the Malaysia Cup format so interesting.Originally posted by neeyh:Thank you for posting it up. People like me don't know much about the glory that the Singapore football team brought us.
So serious? I grow up watching them too.. K. Kannan, Malek Awab, Micheal Vana..Originally posted by rojak12:It is exactly the rivalry between Singapore and Malaysia that makes the Malaysia Cup format so interesting.
The longer we stick with Sleague and with kids growing up watching EPL, Singapore soccer and local soccer fan will never have the kind passion that we used to have.
1970's (Kim Song et al) days was probably the time when Singaporean really come together to cheer the national team. Fans often got injured (some fatal) just to get into the National Stadium to watch Singapore play.
I think you are refering to David Lee not David Lim. Personally, I think Edmund Wee was the best keeper Singapore had so far. David is very commanding with crosses but very average/shaky with grounders.Originally posted by Urroh:dun forget the younger players then, u all had heard of them even now, Rafi Ali, Nazri Nasir, V Selvaraj.
Older players then is David Lim, best goalkeeper ever, melak awab, Borhan Abu Samad.
Bashir is David junior lah.Originally posted by kopiosatu:who's the guy before david lee?
ahmad something? can't remember his name...
i know bashir khan was before him.

there's one, a malay.Originally posted by rojak12:Bashir is David junior lah.
I think you're referring to Abdul Malik, if I'm not mistaken. The second choice after David LeeOriginally posted by kopiosatu:there's one, a malay.
bashir was dropped and didn't figure in the team during that period
when they got david lee back, they dropped that malay guy and bashir khan appeared again as a 3rd choice.
it was during that frustrating period where singapore wasn't winning anything, during the PN Sivaji years.
