Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has labelled Cristiano Ronaldo a serial diver after his display in Manchester United's 2-1 win at The Riverside.
Television replays showed there was no contact between Boro keeper Mark Schwarzer and Ronaldo when the winger won United a 19th-minute penalty.
"Ronaldo has a history of it," Southgate told the News of the World.
"Our keeper has done everything to get out of the way, but the lad has gone down once again."

Asked if he felt cheated by Ronaldo, Southgate said: " Yes - it's as simple as that. I cannot see it was a penalty for love nor money.
"He did it again afterwards with a free-kick against George Boateng."
Ronaldo should have been yellow carded on both occasions
After watching television replays, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said the penalty was justified.
"Schwarzer is trying to avoid it, but would Ronaldo have scored? I think he would, but anyway it was a penalty kick."
It is not the first time Ronaldo's sportmanship has been questioned.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard labelled the winger "a disgrace" for his part in Wayne Rooney's sending-off at the World Cup.
Gerrard was furious when Ronaldo got involved after Rooney appeared to stamp on Portugal defender Ricardo Carvalho.
"Sadly a dark side stains Cristiano Ronaldo's game," wrote Gerrard in his autobiography. -

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate wants action taken against Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo over the way he won his team's penalty on Saturday.
Southgate, whose troops crashed 2-1, raged: "Something has to be done because it is happening with that lad too many times.
"People will say this has always been around. But it seems to be a handful of players at the centre of it.
"It makes referees' jobs so difficult. I can't comment on the referee's decision because I don't know what his view of it was.
"He felt from the view he had there was contact. But it is clear for everyone to see there wasn't.
"I guess that is the first time I have been really angry as a manager. When there has been an injustice it makes you feel that way.
"I am in the fortunate position where he isn't one of my players. It is not for me to comment."
United boss Alex Ferguson stuck by his initial view that ref Chris Foy was correct to award the spot-kick.
He said: "I've just seen it and it looks as though the goalkeeper didn't touch him.
"But it's the intent - what could he do? He's going to be carted anyway. I think it's a penalty."
Southgate (right) reckons the decision was a crucial moment - even though James Morrison cancelled out Louis Saha's spot-kick only for United's Darren Fletcher to head the winner.
The Boro boss added: "I've probably said as much as I should have about someone else's player but I do feel aggrieved it gave us a mountain to climb in the game.
"My players have given everything and you never know how a game is going to pan out.
"But the first goal in any game in this division is crucial and we were playing well until that point. It knocked the stuffing out of us." -

@ LEAST even dead_man_inc admit that ronaldo dive and you guyz keep saying CFC players dive but i don't see them diving this season so how about MAN UTD player/s instead

RESPECT is to be earned and if you behave like idiot and still expect respect think again
and it is a unhonourable win for man utd as Ronaldo dive but Fletcher goal was good piece of play and poor defending by Boro after scoring a goal 5 minutes earlier.
When Ronaldo was @ the Edge of the penalty box near the goal post and the keeper was @ near post and i tot Ronaldo going to try a 0 angle Lampard Shot Against Barcelona but unselfishly or he beileve that he do not have the technique to score from there or never tot of shotting @ all , he actually pass to giggs and giggs cross in to fletcher and he scored
but anyway there are man utd fans that deserve respect and some that don't
those that don't is they can't admit their own players mistake and are very arrogant about their past history and keep living in their past history
and those who deserve to be respected is NON-bias and respect other team players and do not always ride on their past history glory but concentrate discussion on the current season and the future prospect of the club instead of flaming other teams and keep the "TREBLE" on their mouth everytime -

If its a stumble he should do sth about it and if i were him i will go to Fergie and Neville and scholes ask them what to do.
I don expect him to say that its not a penalty if he stumble.Only 1 in a thousand players can do that.

Sadly, i'd prefer him to work on his dribbling, passing and shooting.
In fact, work on everything except fouls and dives.

I think he stumbled and didnt intentionally dive for the penalty. Afterall, why would he dive if it is much easier to tab the ball into an empty net?
But for the freekick, it is definitely a dive

It looks like a stumble not a dive I think.. Oh well not many people own up to fouls given wrongly.. I know Robbie Fowler owned up once which earned him some fairplay award.. The free kick one, it looks like a dive during replay, as if he purposely contact his leg with boateng and dive machiam kana shotgun.. *shrugs*

the ball was going away from him and and 1 of the boro defender is cutting across to block C.Ronaldo open shot to the net without keeper with 2 other boro defenders running towards the its own goal to prevent the goal from going in and thus ronaldo took a dive that resulted in penalty
just admit it that ronaldo dive =/
and 2nd foul was ronaldo draw contact with boateng i think if i did not remember wrongly and i was shocked to see the ref actually gave boateng a yellow card despite being so near the incident which should enable him to seen the incident clearly but i think it is his ref ability that is in doubt -
