BARCELONA, Nov 13 (Sw) - Javier Saviola joins the already swelled ranks of injured Barcelona forwards after he suffered a torn muscle.
The striker came on as a substitute against Zaragoza on Sunday and scored a goal, but got injured during the match.
"Saviola has torn a muscle in his left thigh. We predict a recovery period of between four and six weeks," the medical staff announced on the Barcelona website.
With Lionel Messi announced to be out for about three months earlier today, and the extended absence of Samuel Eto'o, Barcelona's only remaining striker is Eidur Gudjohnsen.
The midfield also suffers from injuries, with Andres Iniesta also announced out today, together with Edmilson.
