They are 2 cocky, thinking they can win the world cup or euro tournament on account of the reputation of players, like gerrad, lampard, ferdinand, rooney, owen etc etc -
4th reason:
they got a dodgy coach in Mclaren. -
5th reason : they never seems to put the right players @ time
carrick in dm why not put parker instead he more high energy and have the most tackle in epl.........Gerrard and Lampard can help distrubute long ball while Joe cole can distrubute thru pass and dribble thru the defence
6th reason : they never call up the right player
why was darren bent not called up ??? he the charlton top striker and Defoe rarely even play and Consider that he score around 20 goals if i am not wrong last season as a LONE striker mainly this show his quality it is hard to score so many as a Lone Striker -
Gunners youth in England surprise
Arsenal youngster Matthew Connolly, 19, made a surprise appearance at England's training session on Monday afternoon, where a somewhat depleted squad were put through their paces at London Colney.
The former England Under-19 international joined in with the 16 senior players who were not in action for their clubs on Sunday - with the exception of Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson and striker Jermain Defoe, who had started on the bench at Reading.
Steve McClaren's original 28-man strong party for the friendly with Holland in Amsterdam had been whittled down by a spate of withdrawals, winger Aaron Lennon the latest to pull out earlier on Monday afternoon.
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was, as usual, the first player on to the training pitch at Arsenal's Hertfordshire complex - and wasted little time in starting shooting practice before taking his now customary turn in goal.
Following a group jog for a warm-up, Robinson and Watford's on-loan United keeper Ben Foster broke off to start their specialist practice session.
The remainder - now including Connolly, who clearly knew Micah Richards from their time in the England youth set-up - began a light-hearted game of one-touch, which head coach McClaren also took an active part in.
McClaren must now decide how best to deal with the absence of Spurs winger Lennon in Holland, who had been earmarked for his first start in Amsterdam but was forced out this morning with a knee injury.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who like Peter Crouch and Jamie Carragher were in action at Arsenal yesterday, could be asked to play wide on the right, as he did in the 3-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.
Earlier on Monday, Jermaine Jenas also withdrew from the squad, the Spurs midfielder sent back to his club for treatment on a calf problem.
So far only Manchester United's Kieran Richardson has been called up to the squad as a replacement by McClaren.

The Manager is the key answer to the problem, the selection of players for 23 players is ok but to field the first 11 is a laughter.
Why a manager who has a pool of talent to choose from yet to produce the result. -

if your team is good, how come cannot perform?
england players better dun boasts can win the world cup or euro cup, if not this will come back to haunt them if they do not qualify even for the semi finals.
with mclaren in charge, i think england will struggle to qualify for euro 2008, maybe not even qualify. if that happens, time for england to change their coach again. -

sorry to say, lampard and terry not world class. they may be good for chelsea, but they sucks for england.
england dun have a good goalie, unlike last time got seaman, shilton and ray clemence. robinson is not half as good as them. -

Over rated by press, over price by club. The minimum cap by FIFA on home grown talent force club to buy local player at an over price rate. Many better players from South American are much cheaper. As some have said in the other thread on % cap by FIFA, this kind of overnight success for some young player, eg Rooney, made them over price and Country team manger cannot ignore him. Manager should try out other player rather than trying to find partner for the so call super star. It is also important to able to take risk, eg Walcott in 06 world cup, to field him since he was selected. The recent U21 game had proof that such talent can perform in big stage.
Someone suggested Wenger as manager, yes, he is that sort of technically sound manager to lead the team. Understand the players strength and position/develop them well. England for years lack the kind of support to put together a pool of talented superstar to play as a team, a team with flair to win games. -
