Look at Arsenal, they are not doing that. It ridiculous to field an entire team of expatriates when playing in a domestic league. If I am a fan, I feel cheated, imagine 60,000+ English fans paying huge money to watch a team of foreigners playing for a local club. What contribution is Arsenal doing in terms of promoting sports / developing football talent? They shld play a part and putting in a cap on the number of English players makes it a more level playing field and provide more opportunities for English players.
Nowhere in Europe do we see teams fielding an entire foreign players - not in Italy, not in Spain. heck, even Barcalona and Real Madrid has local players on their first team. What Arsenal (which, incidentially a club with long rich history in English football) is doing, is really not helping the greater things at all. and they still have the cheek to fight (both off and on the sidelines). -
I don't care if the English fans feel cheated. Football is a global sport, and if those guys cannot get off their Mother England high horses, then just too bad.
Arsenal is only answerable to Arsenal fans, and their style of play is not replicatable with 6 Englishmen in the squad. Frankly, Sepp Blatter is an anachronistic throwback to the days where National teams reign supreme. It is not the case today.. and to blame the poor coaching and youth setup on Arsenal is just a childish ploy.
I fully support Wenger and I want my Arsenal to stay the way it is. Arsenal DOES NOT solely belong to England or Englishmen. -

but you can't deny that Arsenal is a English Club, they are located in England, they are in an English League and represent English clubs when they're in European/World games, do you???
oh just in case you got the idea that i'm refering to Arsenal when i talk abt the "stealing" of raw talents, youth setups..etc.. , i'm afraid you've gotten my point wrongly.. maybe Arsenal did them, i dunno and i couldn't care less, but what i'm trying to say is.. clubs should pay alittle more respect on the own ID.. they're afterall AN English Club..
England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Brasil and many many more big footabll nations have over the years try to stay as close to their roots as possible, which explain why even an appointment of Ericsson cause a big uproar in England and why Spain after all these years of under acheivement still resist using a non Spanish manager, using or not using does not makes it right or wrong, it just shows how the general public hopes to have a ID that they can link on to.. just think how would you like it if Geylang United is an all Malaysian (no offence again, but if you do then not my problem too) team? i would safely says most Singapore football fans would not enjoy that even if Geylang goes out and win an Asian Champion cups back..
again what i'm trying to say is not right nor wrong.. its a a personnal opinion.. like it, sing along, dun then non of my business too...
