Hmm, right now Becks should be recalled. See the impact Zidane, Thuram and Makelele made when they announced their retirement before the World Cup only to overturn it and together they helped their country to reach the final?
What England needs now is re-shaping.
Terry may be a good captain but not good enough. He fails to lift England up when they're down but Becks is different. He lets his freekicks and crosses do the talking.
England's problems:
1) A VERY LOUSY Right-Back.
2) 2 men trying to stamp authority in the middle of the field. i.e Gerrard and Lampard
3) Superstar treatment for off-form players
4) Weak freekicks and corners
Solutions:
1) Forced Retirement for Neville. Luke Young can do a much better job.
2) Drop one of them - Lampard. Why? Look at the way they play and you'll know why. Lamps shoots once he gets the ball and most of the time wasting possession. Gerrard sprays array of passes, is pacy, runs at defence, shoots ACCURATE and POWERFUL shots.
3) If Lampard, Ashley Cole and (maybe) Wayne Rooney can start every match as automatic first choice then i think there's no need for competition.
4) Get Becks Back.
Save your excuses MacClaren. Your tactics failed. Do you think A.Cole and Neville can operate as wing backs? A.Cole, maybe, but Neville?
No "pure" defensive midfielder? Who's doing the dirty job? You? In today's game, a defensive midfielder is a MUST for every team. Edmilson for Barcelona, Diarra for Reall Madrid, Gilberto for Arsenal, Makelele/Essien for Chelsea, O'Shea for United, Sissoko for Liverpool, Gattuso for A.C Milan and Viera for Inter Milan.
Carrick as defensive midfielder? Don't make me laugh.
Wake up MacClaren and make your choices wisely.

n tis wc has shown that not only gerrard is a better player, he can command the team as well as i seen him shouting at ferdinand to get back to his position. in my view, he is a natural captain who is able to adapt in unfavourable situation too.
just imagine u r academic wise doesnt prove u can perform well in ur job too. -
