WENGER INSPIRED FOR FINAL ACT OF REVENGE

ARSENE WENGER last night confessed he is still haunted by Arsenal's Champions League final defeat - and insists he won't be satisfied until he wins the trophy. Gunners boss Wenger was just 13 minutes away from glory before the ten-man Gunners surrendered their lead and lost to Spanish giants Barcelona in the Champions League final in Paris last May.
As Wenger celebrates 10 years in charge at Arsenal on Thursday, the Frenchman confesses that the European Cup is his biggest ambition and regret during his glorious era of success. -

sure... I totally agree that Arsenal, the gooners will win the Champions league, but it is the AFC champion league not the UCL.

Arsene Wenger says he has witnessed his Arsenal team growing stronger and stronger after they beat Porto 2-0 in a composed UEFA Champions League display.
The Gunners have shrugged off their mixed early form to record four wins in a row, two of which have come in Europe as the London side top Group G after two games.
Thierry Henry and Alexander Hleb scored the goals at Emirates Stadium as Arsenal defeated the Portuguese champions, and the Frenchman, celebrating ten years as Gunners boss this week, was pleased to see his side grow in stature again.
"[I'm] very pleased because we always looked in control of the game against a good Porto team," Wenger told Sky Sports News.
"I felt we had a very good team performance and now we are stronger after every game.
"We scored two great goals and one was unusual because it was a header, but it was a great goal and the second was a good finish."
Henry scored an identical goal to his strike against Sheffield United at the weekend, and Wenger stated that his captain could make more use of his aerial presence after nodding home another rare header.
"In my opinion not enough," Wenger added when asked if Henry scored enough with his head.
"Because I think he could score a header in every game and much more.
"But you discover something about your players and now we see he is a great player with his head and not just his feet."
The win on Tuesday night was another important step for the London side as they attempt to undo the hurt of losing to Barcelona in last season's final, and Wenger admitted that the 2-1 defeat in Paris was proving to be a motivational tool for his young side.
"We want to of course transform that frustration of the final into more motivation and for the moment it works.
"We have a knitted squad and a knitted quality and we need to keep the desire and competitiveness high."
Porto coach Jesualdo Ferreira urged his team to improve after taking one point from two games following a draw with CSKA Moscow in their first outing.
"Arsenal are in fact a very strong team," said Ferreira.
"They proved that in the Champions League and in the English Championship.
"There are a lot of things we can improve.
"These defeats are never good or positive, and now we are going to give a better performance.
"When we play these more demanding matches, things complicate themselves and the team shows some fragilities." -

i agree that any teams can win the champions league but what is thier percentage of winning it ?
and by sending out a statement Arsenal will win Champions league is unrealistic as we are still @ the qualifying stages and Not even Chelsea And Barcelona And Dark Horse Lyon dare to say that they WILL win the champions league -

as for ghimpheng, looking at your posts, and your signature, did you just slap your own mouth? you criticise people for posting arsenal will win cause currently, still @ initial stage, what about you saying chelsea to take 3rd league title when we not even at 1/3 stage in the league?

Wenger tells Henry to use his head

LONDON, (AFP) - Arsene Wenger believes Thierry Henry needs to start using his head before can fulfil his true potential.
Henry claimed his 50th goal in European football when he opened the scoring with a superbly taken header in Arsenal's 2-0 Champions League win against Porto at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
But the Gunners captain has often been criticised for not scoring enough headed goals and Wenger is hoping his strike against Porto, his second header in four days, shows he has added a new dimension to his game.
Wenger believes the France star can become an even more dangerous proposition for opposing defences if he starts to make the most of his aerial ability.
He said: "He has been here for seven years and you can still learn things about him. He has really good timing to anticipate when the cross will come. I would like him to do it more often because he is very powerful in the air.
"He likes to score and he's intelligent. He knows who can give him good crosses and he makes a relationship with them. It was a great cross from (Emmanuel) Eboue and he is beginning to link up well with him.
"If you look for the players who have scored as many goals in Europe as him you won't find many. The numbers don't lie. It is even more impressive because he doesn't play just to score. He drifts wide and brings other people into the game."
Wenger's side have now won four consecutive matches after a slow start to the season and look odds-on to qualify comfortably from a group they lead after two wins.
So the French coach, who celebrates the tenth anniversary of his arrival at Arsenal on Thursday, could be forgiven a moment of indulgence as he reflected on how much he has in common with Tony Blair.
But any Arsenal fans worried Wenger is considering emulating the British Prime Minister by preparing to leave his position shouldn't panic just yet.
Like Blair, Wenger has been in charge for 10 years and he revealed the politician's speech at the Labour Party conference on Tuesday struck a chord with him.
Wenger said: "I sometimes think about how things have changed in my time at Arsenal. In fact I listened to Tony Blair this afternoon saying I started ten years ago' and I was thinking is he was talking about me?
"He was talking about how the world had changed since he has been Prime Minister. Our world at Arsenal has changed a lot in ten years as well.
"One day I won't be here and you hope you can look back with a little bit of pride. We want to keep developing and the new stadium and the young team are signs we are doing that."
Porto were unable to contain Arsenal's fluid passing and movement and, after opening in the scoring in the 38th minute, Henry set up the second for Alexandr Hleb three minutes after half-time.
William Gallas strode forward with a mazy run that took him past three defender and when he laid the ball off to Henry, the striker quickly shifted it to Hleb, who drove past Helton for his first European goal for Arsenal.
Porto face a struggle to reach the second round after collecting just one point from their first two matches, but manager Jesualdo Ferreira is refusing to panic.
He said: "The conclusions we can take from this game are that we still have things to learn. We are a young team and are a capable of improving on our mistakes and we will get better for the next game.
"Of course I am disappointed with the result but it is not a disaster because we can learn a lot from this and improve for the future. We have to be positive. There is no other way.
"We are not in a positive position in the group. Porto is not used to losing games but it happens. We can't get desperate. We have to keep our heads and try to work even harder."
I said before in other thread forgot which one but anyway i said that henry will be a complete striker if he know how to use his head and let hope to see more henry header goals as he can jump really high -
I respect Arsenal , but i also respect MU , Chelsea , Bayern , AC and Bracelona to win the UCL .
