Arsenal have been in unofficial takeover talks.
The Sun says the Gunners have discussed a £350 million price for the club. A consortium interested in buying the club backed off in June when told the asking price.
Now a new group, which could include a Russian billionaire, has arrived on the scene in recent weeks.
An insider said: "There is an awful lot of activity going on behind the scenes at the moment, some serious discussions."
The club has had no official approach and the board have NOT discussed a firm offer.
However, a number of shareholders are aware of the interest.
The new group's involvement is at the earliest stages.
One Russian linked previously with Arsenal is Vladimir Potanin, 42, worth more than ?2billion. He is a Gunners fan who has flown to Britain in his private jet several times to watch Arsenal and was linked with making an investment in the club several years ago.

Khodorkovsky was the wealthiest man in Russia, richer than Abramovich and was the 16th wealthiest man in the world yet he was later convicted for fraud and tax evasion and received a 9-year sentence.
As of 2004, much of his wealth evaporated because of the collapse in the value of his holding in the Russian petroleum company YUKOS. At the time of his arrest, he was considered the most powerful of the Russian business oligarchs.

However, Russian President Vladimir Putin changed the law to abolish elections for regional governors, and on October 2005 Abramovich was reappointed governor for another term cos in September 2005 Abramovich sold off his money making petroleum company Sibneft cheaply to the Russian-government controlled Gazprom.
The transaction is interpreted as indicating that he remains on good terms with President Vladimir Putin, unlike fellow-oligarch Mikhail Khodorkhovsky, who was recently jailed for nine years.
Abramovich, Of Jewish background, is a firm supporter of Jewish and Israeli causes, seen his funding of several projects in the Abramovich neighbourhood in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv... He probably thought it was safer to put his money in England & Israel, far away from the Russian government. -

Arsenal deny takeover talks

Arsenal have dismissed reports today that they've been discussing a takeover with interested parties.
There had been suggestions of a ?350million price-tag on a controlling interest in the Gunners, who last season reached the Champions League final and have just moved into their new 60,000-seater Emirates Stadium.
However, a club statement this morning read: "Arsenal Holdings plc has noted the speculation in the media that it has received an approach or has been in talks which may lead to an offer for the company.
"The board of directors confirms that it is not and has not been in any such talks and has not received any such approach." -
Arsenal have denied reports which claimed they had held talks over a possible takeover at Emirates Stadium.
Reports in the written press on Friday claimed a Russian consortium had set their sights on The Gunners.
It was claimed that tentative talks had taken place, but this has been given short shrift by Arsenal.
