Both of them are arguably some of the best attacking midfielders for the england side in their generation.
Lampard:I think the main thing he do is to run forward and score goals via long shots.Scored tons of goals with Chelsea for the past few seasons but was off form recently, esp in the world cup.
Scholes:More of a passer than a scorer.Once had a 3 year streak of not scoring for england but scored 131 goals for Man Utd alrdy.More known for his intelligent passes.
You think who is better?Comapre an on-form scholes with an on-form lampard. Who would you rather have in your team? -

anyway, back to lamps and scholes; scholes is definitely a better player than lamps. he deep runs into the box and long range shots were awesome.
and trust me; he's a good header of the ball despite his small frame & height of 170cm. -

Scholes started off as a striker, in a way an understudy to Cantona. He however gave Sir Alex a lot of headache by seizing his chances when coming on as a substitute. Gradually, SAF played him in a more withdrawn midfield role which he excelled in. His predatory skills in the penalty box was a result of his early development as a striker. Very cool finishing.
As for Lampard, from his days as a midfielder in West Ham to his current role in Chelsea, he is more effective than spectacular. And there are easily many other effective English midfielders.
Scholes for me any day. -
never mind let the world number 2 show you what he is about even though he is already proven but seems like biasness against chelsea players are still on-going

Seriously, Lampard is way overrated.
Why can he score so many goals 2 seasons ago? Simple. Cos Essien and Makelele has been doing the dirty work and Lampard took the ball away from them and just ram the ball towards goal, never mind the accuracy cos most of his goals were either deflected or hit the post while on the way into the net.
The arrival of Ballack proved my thoery. Lampard is not getting any more of this chances and he has to do the dirty work himself.
Scholes is an intelligent player. He's a playmaker. Unlike Lampard whose first instinct while he got the ball is to shoot, Scholes spots run from his team mates and produces excellent passing. He'll only shoot if the chance of scoring is hig, which is highly unlikely to happen to Lampard.
Scholes wins my vote.

Both are assets to the England team.
Lampard at his best can be a terror for opponents with his intelligent passes but he did not show it at the World Cup.
He must learn to be less selfish and concentrate more on his role in midfield, rather than filling in the role of a back-up striker. -

i think lampard n scholes is diff type of players...scholes is more of a support striker rather den a attacking midfielder...scholes is better in assisting when he was the age of lampard..but lampard has more scoring den scholes...

Scholes is better with his passing and shooting, his vision is legendary.. whareas Lampard can only score goals.. his assist is not alot too.. compare to scholes or Ronaldino.

They shared one common thing:
Both do well in their respective Club but unspectacular in their 3 Lion jersey.
Lampard like a German mid player... effective, efficient and scores from long range. Scholesy has better vision and puts in more thru passes, a playmaker. -
