Let me tell u why John Terry is doing so well at the moment.
Chelsea were owing millions before Abramovic bought over Chelsea and John Terry was on the verge of joining Newcastle to repay the debts.
Den Abramovic stepped in.
He cleared the debts and Terry stays. Terry was also very lucky to have Frank Lebeouf and Marcel Desailly as his mentor and the rest is history.
Chelsea do not have any academy players for now. Just take a look at Chelsea bench. Mourinho once said that he wants 2 world class players in every position so where does the youth players play? Reserve? No. Cos the 2nd String players would most probably be Abramovic old toys i.e Shaun Wright-Phillips, Wayne Bridge.

actually, if the youth academy cannot produce good players to feed into the senior squad, I dun see what's the problem with buying.
The reality is, in this day and age, only one or 2 players will rise thru' the rank to be one of the club's great. -
its perfectly fine not to be able to produce young guys constantly, but over here the hoohaa is abt those young players that Chelsea had currently are not from its youth team and so can't be term as academy product.

This time its Middlesbrough's youngster that they are interested in... Not Arsenal's or Leed's. Frank Arnesen appear on film apparently offering the player's agent £150,000 if the England youth star, 15, signed for Chelsea.
Arnesen himself was tap-up from Spurs, now he is doing the tapping-up.

CHELSEAÂ’S title defence has been undermined by a new tapping-up scandal which could see them docked three points.
Last nightÂ’s BBC bungs-probe Panorama programme showed Chelsea academy director Frank Arnesen apparently offering the agent of Middlesbrough youngster Nathan Porrit a deal to move to Chelsea.
That evidence will be of significant interest to the Premier League, who have already punished Chelsea for a similar offence.
An independent commission set up by the authorities fined Jose Mourinho’s side £300,000 after they made an illegal approach for Ashley Cole 18 months ago.
The Blues were also handed a three-point deduction — suspended unless the club was found to have committed the same offence in the 2005-2006 season.
And Panorama claimed last night that during that season Arnesen offered Porrit’s agent Peter Harrison £150,000 if the England youth star, 15, signed for Chelsea.
Harrison said: “It is 99.9 per cent sure he’s leaving Middlesbrough.”
Arnesen then replied on camera: “150,000 spread in three years and we can do it like a royalty bonus and this and this — salary, we can talk about that.”
If the case is proven against Chelsea, the Premier League would have no choice but to dock the champs three points.
Liverpool also showed interest in the youngster — seemingly against FA rules. Boro confirmed they did not give permission for this approach.
Harrison admitted on film that Boro did not know he was touting Porritt around.
Both Chelsea and Liverpool denied the meetings filmed by the Beeb broke any industry rules. -

Chelsea to avoid points penalty over tapping
Chelsea will not face any possible points deduction even if TV claims they made an illegal approach for an England youth player are substantiated.
The Blues were given a suspended three-point deduction by the Premier League following the Ashley Cole 'tapping up' case.
Chelsea are currently the subject of a joint investigation by the Premier League and Football Association over claims by Leeds of illegal approaches for three academy players last season.
The BBC's Panorama programme has now alleged Chelsea's director of youth football Frank Arnesen offered Middlesbrough's 15-year-old midfielder Nathan Porritt £150,000 over three years to move clubs.
However, even if Chelsea are found to have breached any regulations with regard to the academy players the suspended points deduction from the Cole case will not apply.
It is understood one Premier League regulation covers illegal approaches for contracted players, and a separate regulation covers approaches for academy players.
Chelsea would have to be found guilty of another breach of the rule regarding contracted players for the points deduction to come into force.
With regard to the Arnesen allegations, Chelsea told the BBC no industry rules had been breached. It is understood Arnesen was approached by Porritt's agent Peter Harrison rather than Chelsea making the initial inquiry.
The Panorama programme said: 'In a meeting with the agent Peter Harrison he [Arnesen] offers a financial inducement to one of the game's brightest prospects, Middlesbrough's England youth star Nathan Porritt.
'At the meeting, also attended by undercover reporter Knut auf dem Berge, Arnesen says he is willing to offer the Teesside club's 15-year-old £150,000 spread over three years to induce him away.'
Porritt's agent also offers the player to Liverpool, and a club official talks positively about signing him when he is 17. Liverpool too have told the BBC they have not breached any industry rules. -
