No one can force you to join a club if you choose not to. There's plenty of time-sharing scams and travel memership con-jobs that involve hours of hard selling. Ultimately, as a consumer, if you think you've been taken for a ride, don't sign the dotted line. California has a 2 week no obligation trial period and if you didn't like what you see, just reject their offer.
Why sign in the first place?
