Jose Mourinho was reportedly involved in a 'furious' bust-up with Chelski chief executive Peter Kenyon over William Gallas' move to Arsenal in a swap deal for Ashley Cole.
According to The Daily Mirror, Mourinho felt 'undermined by Kenyon's decision to allow Gallas to join their bitter Premiership rivals against his wishes' and 'was unhappy at the way he believes the French defender bullied Chelsea into letting him go.'
The rows were reputedly so heated that they put 'Mourinho's long-term future at Chelsea in serious doubt.'
Gallas went AWOL during the summer after growing disenchanted with life at Stamford Bridge. While Kenyon believes that the capture of Cole in return for Gallas plus £5m represents a coup on Chelski's behalf, Mourinho was palpably less enthused by Gallas's departure on the same day that Robert Huth's move to Middlesbrough was finally sanctioned.
An injury to either John Terry or Ricardo Carvalho would leave the Premiership champions severely stretched in the centre of defence, and Mourinho's mood is unlikely to have been improved by the realisation that not only has Gallas' arrival solved Arsenal's defensive crisis but his proposed partnership with Kolo Toure is set to be one of the most formidable in the league.
According to The Daily Mail, Mourinho and Kenyon had several rows throughout the day as the midnight transfer deadline loomed on Thursday.
The paper claims that 'Mourinho did not want Huth to be sold before Cole was signed, and the pair also clashed over the proposed sale of Wayne Bridge to Newcastle. Bridge believed Chelsea had agreed to sell him after talks with Kenyon, but Mourinho wanted to keep him as cover for Cole.' -

Peter Kenyon - CEO = Businessman
Decided to override Mourinho and sell Gallas, a player who refused to play for Chelsea again and had only 9 months before his contract ends. Reason is despite making a $20m offer to Arsenal for the player Chelsea wanted A cole, it was rejected. He was only available with a part exchange involving Gallas. Therefore, decided to let him go and save $15m for Chelsea despite Mourinho dead against it.

Was adamant that Gallas stayed and rot in the reserve cos he felt Gallas bullied Chelsea into letting him go and needed to be taught a lesson. But he didn't consider about the money that would go to waste if it was done his way. It seems like there was an ego match going on between Mourinho & GallasÂ… and Mourinho & Kenyon. In the end, Gallas & Kenyon got their ways.
So who is right and who is wrong? -
what about the fans views?
ok fine, on the whole it might be good business for the club.. but i would most rather gallas go to a club in another league..i think thats what mourinho is most pissed about, that a rival club got one of their best players.. -

Very soon all the players that Ranieri bought will be sold off or let go cheaply.
Arsenal can live without Cole but Chelsea cannot survive without Gallas. Carvalho has wobbly legs.

Now Gallas has left Chelski, Carvalho's first team appearance will be extended.
I see Boulharouz having more work to do after Gallas' departure.
Let's see how many goals will be credited to Carvalho's mistakes.

for the first one, he intercepted the ball, try to break out of defence just like he did against man utd, got nowhere to go, tried to pass to lampard and got intercepted.
for the 2nd one, long ball came, he headed it straight to a boro player..
don't remind me.. -
this is the best time to play chelsea.
unless chelsea make some serious signing i dont see defending their title easily. and they can forget about winning the CL.
the stupidest thing a club can do is sell their best defender to another title challenger. kenyon really CMI!! -

I am sure Kenyon wanted to make Gallas stayed back too otherwise the deal would have been settled long ago rather than waited till the last day, last minute for it to happen... Also Wenger's insistent that Gallas must be included if any deal is going to be done.
I don't see any party wrong here, Kenyon & Mourinho have different duties. But if someone has to be blame... I guess it is the way Chelsea treated Gallas in the first place.
It reminded me of the way Real treated Makelele. They didn't think much of him... while Terry & Carvalho was getting all the big praised, reviews and the big salary, he was getting nothing. Low salary, never received the acknowledgement like Terry even though his performance was way better... no new contract until he wanted to leave than they started to treat him with more respect. -
WILLIAM GALLAS took a swipe at Chelsea by claiming new club Arsenal have the best fans.
The defender, who quit the Blues in a swap deal with Ashley Cole, said: “I want to experience new sensations in a brand new stadium, cheered on by the best set of fans in the country.
“I needed a fresh challenge, to break out of my routine and to set myself new horizons.
“I am happy and proud to have joined Arsenal.
“I had five marvellous seasons with Chelsea but I had been dreaming of a new footballing challenge — and Arsenal’s offer was one I could not refuse.”
Gallas, 29, helped Chelsea win back-to-back Premiership titles.
But he clashed with boss Jose Mourinho and voiced his dismay at being shunted around various positions in defence.
Now the World Cup star hopes to revive his career at the new Emirates Stadium under compatriot Arsene Wenger. -

Chelsea players are unhappy with the club's decision to sell William Gallas.
The Sunday Times says Blues manager Jose Mourinho's idea that "the team is the star" is damaged by the greater status and wages of Andriy Shevchenko, Michael Ballack, Frank Lampard, John Terry and now Ashley Cole compared with the rest.
Certain senior players at Chelsea are said to be no happier about Gallas's exit than their manager and annoyed that while their club could not come up with the ?78,000 a week he wanted, the money was found to attract Cole on ?83,000 a week. -

WILLIAM GALLASÂ’ father and former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri have accused the Blues of being liars.
Chelsea claim Gallas threatened to hit an own goal in a bust-up with Jose Mourinho.
But dad Simbert said: “I know my son through and through — and he is totally incapable of doing any of the things Chelsea say.
“I am a father who likes to stay in the background and let William do his own talking when he has to.
“But, when it comes to an attack on his honour and that of the family, like this, I can talk of my belief in him.
“I have already spoken to William about what Chelsea are saying about him.
“But I am not worried for him. He is a man who can stand up for himself.”
Simbert, who lives in the West Indies, will attend FranceÂ’s Euro 2008 qualifier against Italy in Paris tonight before watching Gallas make his Arsenal debut against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Former Blues boss Ranieri also branded Chelsea liars.
The Italian, who signed the French defender from Marseille back in 2001, said: “I cannot believe these stories.
“I signed William and he was always a good professional — on and off the pitch.
“Of course, I don’t know what has happened in the last two years.
“But this is incredible and I don’t believe it.”
Gallas, 29, who moved to Arsenal just minutes before last week’s transfer deadline, has denied Chelsea’s claims and accused them of “lacking class”.
Furious club chiefs claim the central defender made a series of bizarre threats to the Blues in an amazing feud with boss Mourinho.
In a statement, Chelsea bigwigs insisted Gallas:
HAWKED himself round, searching for the highest bidder.
THREATENED to boycott their FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool if he was not offered a bigger contract.
WENT on strike for the new season’s opener — against Manchester City.
WARNED he would score an own goal or get himself sent off if the club tried to discipline him.
Blues fans bombarded the club’s website yesterday to voice their disgust at Gallas’ departure. One wrote: “I'm all for calming down and getting things into perspective but this one doesn’t sit easy.”
Another fan said: “If what the club has said about him is not true, then he will sue the club for defamation of character. If he doesn’t, then we’ll know where the truth lies.”
But some fans have taken the clubÂ’s statement with a pinch of salt.
One supporter said: “Gallas deserved as much money as the rest of Chelsea’s overpaid stars.
“The statement from the club about this really is pathetic.
“Chelsea has a wage structure? Don’t make me laugh.
“It’s a bloody joke. The people running this club are toxic.”
The FA have decided not to intervene in the row between Chelsea and Gallas.
