Real Madrid and England centre-half Woodgate, 26, has moved to the Riverside on a season's loan with the option of making the deal permanent.
German international Huth, 22, has signed a five-year contract after completing a £6m switch from Chelsea.
Boro boss Gareth Southgate told the club website: "This is a significant coup and a big boost."

Gunners line up Baptista.
JULIO BAPTISTA must decide today if he will join Arsenal. A deal would allow wantaway Jose Reyes to get his dream move to Real Madrid.
The Gunners last night agreed a straight swap to wash their hands of Reyes and land “The Beast”.
Baptista, 24, has been battling to avoid being forced out of the Bernabeu because — like Reyes — he doesn’t fancy living in London.
The Brazil star, who can play as a striker or in midfield, snubbed a move to Arsenal last summer to sign for Real in a £13.8million switch from Seville.
Real chiefs have told Baptista if refuses to sign for Arsene Wenger by midnight tonight he will be left in the shadows.
If Baptista blocks the deal Arsenal will sell Reyes to Atletico Madrid for £12m plus a further £2.5m performance related.
West Ham United are set to pull off a major coup by the signing Argentine stars Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United were all thought to be competing for the duo, along with some of the continents elite including Bayern Munich and Milan.
However, The Hammers have struck a deal with Media Sports Investments (MSI) - who own the rights to the Corinthians pair.

SAVIOLA SNUBS VILLA. Argentinian striker Javier Saviola has turned down the chance to join Aston Villa.
New Villa boss Martin O'Neill approached Barcelona on Tuesday regarding a deal for the World Cup star but was told that the striker has no interest in moving to the Midlands club.
His agent Alfredo Cabrera Brizuela said: "The propositions are important, but Javier wants another level".
Barcelona have told Saviola he can leave, having been loaned out to Sevilla and Monaco in successive seasons.
Racing Santander are now favourites to land the diminutive forward.

West Ham have sealed the sensational double signing of Argentina duo Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
The Corinthians pair have put pen to paper on permanent deals, for an undisclosed fee, in an amazing coup.
Elsewhere, Steed Malbranque has joined Tottenham, who are also closing in on Pascal Chimbonda, while Portsmouth have signed Andrew Cole and Niko Kranjcar.
It could be a busy evening at Arsenal, where the transfer sagas that are Jose Reyes and Ashley Cole will be resolved.

Arsenal and Real Madrid have agreed a deal to swap midfielder Jose Antonio Reyes for forward Julio Baptista. The terms agreed are for a season-long loan deal but the switch could become permanent at a later date.
Reyes, 22, had long campaigned for a move back home and Real and Atletico Madrid had both been linked with swoops for the forward.
Arsenal had hoped to sign Brazil's Baptista a year ago, but he chose Real where he has failed to settle down.
Baptista did not train with Madrid on Thursday, with reports suggesting he was in London taking a medical and processing a work permit.
Reyes joined Arsenal from Sevilla in January 2004 and last year extended his contract to 2011.
Last month, the midfielder told the Spanish press he was keen to leave Arsenal for Madrid, saying he had not adapted to life in England.
Reyes has not played for Arsenal so far this season with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger believed to have not used him in the Champions League in order not to cup-tie the midfielder and reduce his value.

Liverpool have allowed defender Jan Kromkamp to join PSV Eindhoven.
The full-back, who can also play in midfield, was signed from Villarreal in January but failed to make a first-team place his own at Anfield.
He was, however, used as a substitute in the FA Cup final and helped Liverpool to their victory over West Ham on penalties.
He made 18 first-team appearances for Rafael Benitez's side and was a member of Holland's World Cup squad.
Manchester City striker Andrew Cole has signed for Portsmouth after agreeing terms on a two-year deal. Pompey have agreed to pay an initial fee of £500,000, which could rise to £1m, depending on the number of appearances Cole makes.
The 34-year-old is believed to have been offered wages of £40,000 a week at Fratton Park.
"The club are trying to push forward, and I want to be a part of that," Cole told Portsmouth's official website.
ASHLEY COLE, on duty with England, was rumoured to be undergoing a medical in preparation for the long-awaited move from Arsenal to Chelsea - with William Gallas going the other way. These reports are unconfirmed.

ARSENAL last night backed down in their war with Chelsea as Ashley Cole finally moved to Stamford Bridge.
The Gunners agreed to take William Gallas in part- exchange plus just £5million.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho was understood to be furious at losing the French star. Yet Arsenal had originally demanded £25m for England left-back Cole.
The midnight deadline passed without official confirmation of the deal, which brought an end to 18 months of rowing over the most controversial transfer of all time. Cole, 25, has signed a five-year, £90,000-a-week contract.
After a medical yesterday, he concluded negotiations with Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon at the England team hotel in Manchester.
Yet the transfer only went ahead after Arsenal had been forced to lower their demands and pay Gallas far more than they planned.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger originally offered just £5m for Gallas, 29. He even rejected Chelsea’s straight cash offer of £20m at the end of last week.
But with the transfer deadline looming and the prospect of being stuck with a desperately unsettled player, Arsenal reluctantly agreed to accept ChelseaÂ’s compromise deal.
Even then the move was almost wrecked when Gallas insisted on Arsenal matching the wages he had been offered at Chelsea.
The champions had promised Gallas £80,000 a week and the Frenchman insisted he wanted the same deal.
Wenger was so desperate to land the experienced centre-half he agreed to GallasÂ’ demands.
Arsenal also signed Brazilian Under-19 captain Denilson, 18, in a deal with Sao Paolo which could rise to £4m for the midfielder.

Tottenham clinch Chimbonda deal
Tottenham took their spending to around £12million inside a week after they finally completed the signing of Wigan full-back Pascal Chimbonda on Thursday night.
Earlier, Tottenham added Fulham's Steed Malbranque to their ranks.
Tottenham, who completed the signing of Egyptian striker Mido on a permanent deal worth £4million earlier in the week, will pay around £2million for Malbranque and an estimated £6million for Chimbonda.
Tottenham moved again for the French defender after having two bids for the player rejected in the summer, and Wigan confirmed the deal had gone through, beating the midnight transfer deadline.
Chimbonda, 27, was desperate to move to White Hart Lane after handing in a transfer request on the final day of last season.
Having joined Wigan from Bastia last season, Chimbonda's form in his first season in the Premiership earned him an international call-up from France.
Tottenham had switched their attentions elsewhere after Wigan insisted they would not budge from their £6million valuation of the full-back.
