Terry Dived for the Penalty

MARK HUGHES has accused John Terry of diving to earn the penalty that set up ChelseaÂ’s win.
Blackburn manager Sparky said: “There’s a real sense in our dressing room that we were mugged.
“Terry allowed his legs to collapse from under him to get the penalty.
“He knew the ref was watching the marking because of the FIFA directive about pulling players back — and he used that to his advantage.
“He went down under a fair challenge from Andre Ooijer and the referee gave the penalty. It’s something that’s creeping into the English game and you will see more of it if players know they can use it to gain an advantage.
“The penalty changed the game. Referees need to get the big decisions right and today he got them wrong.”
Blues skipper Terry denied he had taken a dive, saying: “It was definitely a penalty. He held me back.” -

No, its just to highlight that new England captain dived to get the all important penalty for his team... So who says diving is out? Even the captain is at it, so why can't the rest... Nah... Terry when down too easy. A tough guy like him shouldn't have fall with such a slight touch. Even the commentator was asking...
The match seens like heading for a draw and needed a desperate act... and up step...

Andre Ooijer was stupid to get so close to terry, and to tug at his shirt.
Terry would have been even stupider not to fall, when the contact is enough to warrant the penalty.. -

as much as i despise chelsea, i think it was a fair penalty. terry, like rooney, dosent go down easily and the hugging was too obvious.

Yeah, true. Thats why i wonder why he went down so easily...nothing to despise chelsea about its Terry's own acted.
Captain Diver went for it even when the ball was not near or coming towards him... I guess is probably he felt they couldn't break the deadlock and time was running out fast and he didn't want another Middlesbrough. That's why he took the easy way out... -
He even made it to the front page of Mirror Newspaper... The general view of the people in UK also thinks he went down too easily.
England captain dived, what a shame... Don't recall Beck dive... even before or after he became England captain...
Now they have a Captain Diver...

terry's performance is not up to standard in recent games especially in the liverpool and boro games. mcclaren should appoint gerrard as captain

No one is being bias to the chelsea players, only pointing out Terry's act thats all. He is not a young kid like 20, 21 anymore... He has just been made England's captain, I know, next you are going to say he is also human... But he also has a responsibility to behave and act honestly as he is the role model for many younger players now... That's the price for being England's captain. That is why i say Terry's act is a shame cos he is quite a good player so no need to resort to this kind of things... Now even the newspaper carry it on their front page.
Hopefully, we will see the real Terry from now rather than Captain Diver. -

Meanwhile Mourinho was forced to respond to accusations from Rovers manager Mark Hughes after he called Terry's integrity into question over the award of Chelsea's penalty.
Hughes said: 'The penalty decision was a big decision in the game that the referee needs to get right, and he hasn't.
'John Terry is aware that (Blackburn debutant Andre) Ooijer is closely marking him, he knows that the referee is looking at him and decides to collapse his knees and fall in a heap.'
But Mourinho dismissed his counterpart's claims by handing out a history lesson to Hughes.
The Chelsea coach said: 'If Mark Hughes wants to speak about penalties, he should speak about three penalty decisions last season which he never spoke about. Last season he was very happy with three decisions and he won the game here and went home happy.
'The rules are very clear. If a defender pushes or pulls or keeps contact for more than two or three seconds with an attacker, it is a penalty. For me the penalty was clear.'
