not tat i wanna pour cold water... but sg soccer really cannot make it.. i remember i specially went to support them when they played against malaysia some time ago... kena humiliated 0-4... still can remember end up everyone in the stadium cheering for the malaysians...

Anyway, those supporting out national team, be there. Join in the fun and lets roar! ( Although I dun support our national team anymore ) but I'll be at the stadium to witness the last soccer match play at the National Stadium. Kinda missed the good old Malaysia Cup days in the late 80s/ early 90s.

Look at their recent performances: Beating Iraq 2-0, losing to Palestine 0-2, then marginally losing to China by a goal right at the dearth.
The squad has come a long way after placing Avramovic in charge. He's a good coach and manages the team well. If coaches are anything to come by, we should just look at the former Thai National coach. Under his leadership, the Thais made it to the final qualifying group of the World cup 2002, playing against the likes of Iran and Saudi Arabia. That's the closest any of the SEA countries have come to qualification.
Continuity in this case is important.
I say keep Avramovic for the next 4 years to continue his good work...and to allow the national team to grow from strength to strength. -

Notice how Goal 2010 is barely mentioned nowadays? That should tell u that we ourselves now know that is not realistic. But then, really, the Lions have performed very well. We have improved, and although we may be losing 2 regional powers, the scoreline suggest that it is not a total walk-over. I don't mind seeing Singapore lose, but as long as they do it battling.
