Dats why Wigan failed to bring in young talents or potential stars.Originally posted by BillyBong:If Arsenal see no improvement in their valuation of Reyes, and Reyes is out to rat on them, Wenger should just do what Paul Jewell is doing to Pascal Chimbonda.
Insist on their valuation or let him rot in the reserves if he refuses to play.
He was a bad buy and has an obvious integrity problem. Either Reyes or his agent, anyway.
If u're the manager of Arsenal than Arsenal would be gone for good. Sorry for being blunt but your way of handling players is not going to help at all.Originally posted by Boeing787:IF that is true , Arsenal should not let him go but him and Ashley rot in the reserves . He can't really do that in the long run cos Arsenal as a club is not exactly loaded with cash... So it will be quite senseless for wenger to do such a thing as reyes came with a high transfer fee and not to mention a high per week salary too.Originally posted by BillyBong:If Arsenal see no improvement in their valuation of Reyes, and Reyes is out to rat on them, Wenger should just do what Paul Jewell is doing to Pascal Chimbonda.

no diff wat... go where is still wan to leave... n he wanted to leave for $$$ even b4 gunners brought up the tapping incident so its nt the nationality tat matters, its the player itself... english players got their own problem also, look at becks, cole.... once bcum established, bcum $$$ minded n wans fame...Originally posted by zocoss:The difference is he is going from one smaller english club to another bigger english club and not to Spain. Wigan as a team is just following what other "smaller" clubs are doing to the "Bigger" clubs that's all.Originally posted by CKeer:Dats why Wigan failed to bring in young talents or potential stars.
Honestly speaking, would you join a club knowing that they would not let you go off and realise your dream after u performed well for that club?
Yes, Chimbonda might be ungrateful but definitely not disgraceful.
People talked about loyalty and repaying their clubs.
Look what happen to Juventus. Once they relegate, the whole bunch of 1st team players couldn't wait to exit Stade Del Alpi.
Would you stay with Wigan, a potential relegation battle team or venture elsewhere where European Glory awaits?
If u're the manager of Arsenal than Arsenal would be gone for good. Sorry for being blunt but your way of handling players is not going to help at all.
Take Manchester United as an example.
Look what happen to Yorke, Cole, Forlan, Djemba-Djemba and Bellion?
Fergie removed their first-team chances, forced them to trained in the reserves(Yorke with the youth team. Yes, the youth team.) and sold them off cheap.
How many players have they attracted to join United this season? One. And he cost a bomb.
How many players rejected United? Berbatov, Zakora, Obi Mikel, Ballack & many more.
Rotting players is definitey not an option.
Sometimes u just have to let go if the price is right.
I doubt that Arsenal can hold on to Cole and Reyes any longer.
Cheers.

I think there is a difference. Last year when he signed a new 4yrs contract his intentions was to stay otherwise he could have walk away for free but after he signed the contract, they, the chairman & directors treated him differently or i should say badly according to him.Originally posted by BrUtUs:no diff wat... go where is still wan to leave... n he wanted to leave for $$$ even b4 gunners brought up the tapping incident so its nt the nationality tat matters, its the player itself... english players got their own problem also, look at becks, cole.... once bcum established, bcum $$$ minded n wans fame...

he signed after the tapping cos his move was broken up as chealsea was caught... as for the post events, wenger still didnt lost faith in him at all... all cole wanted was money and more money... he signed the improved deal cos he cant leave n nt cos he reali love the club or the new deal... he clearly deserve the punishments n he still tink hes damn right... u jz cant expect ur directors to be all hapi abt the incident but they still gd enuff to give him an improve contract... its abt hw he get their trust back instead he still wans $$$ n all the arrogrance comes out....Originally posted by zocoss:I think there is a difference. That could be the reason why he still wants to leave despite an improved deal. If they had treated him better instead of blaming him for the tap-up and making used of him against Chelsea, maybe all these wouldn't have come up.
Nah... he could have very well see out his contract which was only 1 yr to run-out and walk away to Real or Chelsea and get a sign on fee from them easily around $10m instead he trusted wenger and re-signed.Originally posted by BrUtUs:he signed after the tapping cos his move was broken up as chealsea was caught... as for the post events, wenger still didnt lost faith in him at all... all cole wanted was money and more money... he signed the improved deal cos he cant leave n nt cos he reali love the club or the new deal... he clearly deserve the punishments n he still tink hes damn right... u jz cant expect ur directors to be all hapi abt the incident but they still gd enuff to give him an improve contract... its abt hw he get their trust back instead he still wans $$$ n all the arrogrance comes out....
silvestre is the only real liverpool target during houllier's reign tt expressed desire to join man u than reds. the rest are `guilty by association'. also, many players will play this card to drive a higher value for themselves.Originally posted by zocoss:And you asked, How many players have they attracted to join United... Well, all i know is definitely more than Liverpool. If you want to say players not wanting to join a club, why don't you mention Liverpool? Mikael Silvestre, Alan Smith, Nemanja Vidic... all were Liverpool's targets, all had offers from Liverpool at that time but they rather joint Man U than Liverpool.
You are correct, Mikael Silvestre opt for Man u despite then Liverpool boss Houllier had been pursuing him for sometime...Originally posted by weiqimun:silvestre is the only real liverpool target during houllier's reign tt expressed desire to join man u than reds. the rest are `guilty by association'. also, many players will play this card to drive a higher value for themselves.
about turn players in reds favor include riise (blackburn) and momo (everton). many won't even bat an eyelid when the reds come calling...they jumped right in.
for man u , players left under their noses are alarming, most notably ronaldinho and the nigeria yet-proven wonderkid. man u is also first in queue for ballack, but got spurned....man u's transfer dealing this season is most telling, only carrick in...and saf gotta play the card of saying he's happy with what he's got....he must be kidding.
like tis both side gain.... gunners need a better central midfielder n baptista is the man to partner fabregas rather gilberto silva... real need reyes for face and as a winger even though they already got robino...Originally posted by zocoss:JOSE REYES hopes to complete his move to Real Madrid next week.
The wantaway Arsenal star is in the capital for SpainÂ’s friendly against Iceland on Tuesday.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is resigned to losing striker Reyes, 22.
But he wants £10million cash PLUS Real’s Julio Baptista.
The Brazilian, 24, was a Gunners target last summer and a player who is comfortable in midfield or up front.

Madrid set to make 'final offer' for unsettled Reyes
José Antonio Reyes yesterday said that he does not want to return to training with Arsenal. Real Madrid will now attempt to use the Spain international's unrest as leverage to complete his transfer, sending a delegation to Arsenal in the next 48 hours armed with a "final offer".
The Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein rejected Madrid's offer of £8m when their sporting director Predrag Mijatovic visited London last Wednesday. Dein then informed Reyes' agent, Jesús RodrÃguez de Moya, that the player was not for sale.
"It is hard to stay calm at a time like this," said Reyes. "My intention was not to go back and get involved in training with Arsenal.
[b]£8m only?... wat a joke! Arsenal paid a club record $17m for him 2 yrs ago only and now a slightly better player than when he first came, Real only offering peanuts...
The amount is not even enough to cover Arsenal's installment to Sevilla. Arsenal still owe Sevilla about $7m after paying $10m already. So if they are to sell at $8m, they have to pay Sevilla $7m from it and left with $1m small change after spending $17m.
Real have to get REAL.You pay peanuts wait you get monkeys

but anyway , i don't think wenger wants to keep a wantaway player who doesn't have any loyalty at all , if reyes stays , i think he'll create unhappiness in the dressing roomOriginally posted by BrUtUs:i wun say kio-tio cos reyes is a good left wing and can attract the defenders so its no win no lose...
