Villarreal resigned to losing Senna

Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini is resigned to losing midfielder Marcos Senna to United.
The El Madrigal boss says negotiations over the 30-year-old's transfer have not been concluded, but accepts it is an opportunity Senna can not turn down.
"In the case of Marcos, nothing is 100 percent finalised," explained Pellegrini to Marca, the daily Spanish sports newspaper. "I understand that this is a great opportunity for him but, for us, it is going to be a great footballing loss if he does end up going. If he leaves, I'll be happy for him but I will be sad for the team."
"I am very happy for him because he deserves it," Pelligrini added. "He is a player who has proved his class and I have always found it very strange that nobody came in for him sooner as he is a great player." -
did he play in the recent WC ?
Oh great, Man U can go on to try to sign Lucas Toni, then Rossi can go on loan to WB and that Polish guy can come....

No need L Toni lah... why would they want to sell a 30yrs old striker then go and buy another 30yrs old striker for? Strikers normally don't play till very old... Once reach 30, they start to slow down and for strikers, this could mean the team winning or losing. i dunno abt Rossi but Saha & Smith not proven poachers, i.e. they are not lethal finishers leh....
Solkj...i won't bother with him, the only reason he still around is bcos he is "obedient" to SAF and that he scored the winning goal that got them the Champions Cup.... -
but rossi is too lightweight and cannot hold off strong challenges. fergie is showing him too much face. hopefully he is doing the right thing

Manchester United are expected to tie up the move for Villarreal's Marcos Senna in the next few days.
Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed his interest in the Spanish international last week and is keen to push through a deal.
Both clubs have been locked in talks for the last weeks to try and thrash out a transfer.
Villarreal have now reluctantly decided to let the Brazil-born star leave for a fee in the region of €6 million (£4 million).
United are thought to have offered Senna a lucrative three-year deal to move from Spain to England.
Should Senna complete his move later this week he will become the second summer arrival at Old Trafford following the capture of Michael Carrick.
Will definitely be a good buy if his price is only $4m or even $6m. A good experienced player to have on the side. -
I think Man U should look for a striker like Dirk Kuyt rather than trying 2 sign Senna. Up front, they only have Saha and Rooney who are proven players. Rossi is still young, while Solskjaer's fitness is still in doubt.
Anyway, being a Liverpool fan, I can't say how pleased I am to see that Man U most probably won't be at their strongest for the 1st match of the season. -

Hmm, I wouldn't compare Crouch to Saha. They are 2 different type of players. Crouch is a target man while Saha is more of a mobile type of stiker who drifts to the flanks and between the midfield.
If you do watch Liverpool's matches, you would see how valuable Crouch is with his knockdowns and the fact that his presence on the field creates space for on-rushing midfielders like Gerrard and Garcia. So I wouldn't say he pales when compared to Saha.
Saha is injury prone too if you need a reminder on that

Man U were using a makeshift central midfield pair of Giggs & OÂ’shea from as early as last Nov and still manage to win 9 out of their 10 games in a row. I agree Gerrard is good individually but Liverpool canÂ’t expect him to win games for them single handedly all the time right. I canÂ’t recall another Liverpool player that can win games for them by themselves.
And like I said, games are not won by just having 2 good centre pair and I belief you agree with that too. Liverpool have serious striker problems, Crouch is not a top marksman and to think he is Liverpool 1st choice is frighteningÂ…
Even Man U minus RVN (which I belief is a good thing) is still stronger than Liverpool in that department. Liverpool still need to go out and get 1 good striker then I think they have a more complete team. Tho they are keen on Dirk Kuyt but i think he is definitely not the right guy, Carlos Tevez or Juve's David Trezeguet would be better choice i think. -
man u will have to seriuosly look into their midfield department which is they are now , and by bringing in senna , that should ends their shopping for this transfer window .. liverpool needs to purchase a couple of strikers , they should get the duo David Trezeguet & Zlatan Ibrahimovic form Juventus or either one and will looks more like a title challenging team

The only way they can turn things around is by getting rid of Fergie.
Paying 18.6 million pounds for a lightweight midfielder who has fairly accurate passing skills with almost no tenacity for tackling....wat a waste of sterling.
They should have gotten someone more combative and a real ball winner.
Losing Ruud (at 30 yrs of age) was always going to be a reality...to me, he was never in the same class as Henry, Sheva and might I even say Rooney? Ruud's more of a goal-poacher rather than a striker with dribbling and scoring skills. The majority of his goals came from within the 6-yrd box or hitting in rebounds, eating up the scraps.
Looking at what Man U has in its striking dept, it lacks REAL quality.
Saha - Not a proven goal scorer, inconsistent
Rossi - Inexperienced, weak built, lacks goal scoring instinct, etc...not enough quality
Smith - Tends to be hot headed, returning for a long injury, unproven goal scorer
Solskjaer - Lao liao, way past his prime, should retire soon
Rooney - Hot headed, stubborn, getting fat
What Man U needs is a strong built striker (suitable for the English game), young, determined, tall & fast paced. Someone like Fernando Torres. Glazer should have saved the Carrick money for Torres.
Getting rid of the olden generation is also on the cards...let Giggs, Scholes & Solskjaer...time to move on guys....West Brom, Pompey & Reading need senior citizens like u in their teams to guide the young ones.
Seriously think Man U needs to rebuid the team entirely, or else its gonna be Chelsea for the next 5-7 years at the helm -

Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna remains "confident" he will be a Manchester United player before the transfer window shuts.
The Brazilian-born Spain international has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, although there have been reports Villarreal were looking for more than double the £4million the Red Devils have currently offered.
But the 30-year-old claims the two clubs will hold further talks on Monday with a view to finalising a deal that would grant Senna a "dream" move.
He told the News of the World: "I can't wait, it's a dream come true.
"It has been an objective in my career to always look to improve and look for something bigger - and Manchester is the biggest.
"I think the situation will resolve itself this week and I am confident I will be a United player."
