Arsenal do lack of a experience left back... I belief if they don't go into the market to get another left-back, they will have problems in that area. gael clichy and flamini may be able to cover for a moment but they are not experience enough to play that position for the whole season... they will make lots of mistake if they were to play regularly... Too bad, they are losing the best left-back in the world at the moment. Not everyday clubs like Real M, Barce & Chelsea go for the same player!
Unfortunately, arsenal just don't value their english players. -

He was convicted in his role during the illegal tapping by Chelsea. And he's preaching as though Arsenal wronged him. He made the mistake, not Arsenal, and the club had no choice but to respond accordingly.
How thickskin to think he would dare point the finger at his own club and claim a betrayal of trust. Who betrayed who first? Is it so petty that he has to resort to schoolboy petulance to satisfy his misguided anger?
If he wants away, so be it. Arsenal is bigger than one childish player who thinks himself bigger than the club. Evidently, the Phil Thomson-Fowler incident didn't rub off on him. -

well it indeed a lost for patrick to leave arsenal. but i think it wrong to say if he stay he wont win anything at arsenal. can we say if zidane arent sent off, france will win the world cup? no one can predict. but one good things did happen at arsenal after vieira left is the emergence of fabregas. with vieira he just play second fiddle. now he is regular not only in arsenal but also spain.
flamini shoulder the left back responsibility in the champion league until arsenal reach the final. he in the team that arsenal fight back in the premier league and help the gunners clinch nos 4 spot. if any player that play well in so many games during UCL and premier league cant be consider a good player then probably theo walcott is the best english player in the england team during the world cup.
arsenal should sign one more central defender to partner toure/senderos/djourou. west brom young defender curtis could be solution.
i feel arsenal can also sign joey barton from man city, he has the english combative attitude that could be of use for arsenal. -

Its not that the gunners was good enough to offer him a new contract, its more like they were making sure that they wouldn't lose him without getting a transfer fee. If it was money that he wanted, he could have easily not sign a new contract last year and walk away for free this year and still get a huge sign on fee for himself rather than Arsenal right... Instead after he signed, he said "The board 'rewarded' me with an insult and threw years of loyalty back in my face." That is what he is disgusted by.
We all don't know the real story as to why he met chelsea in the first place, was he tricked or otherwise and what the Arsenal board promised him before he sign his new contract too... But we will all know very soon when his new book is release as he said...

I am not an anti-gunner i like their style of play actually but... its just that every story has two sides to it. The question is, Why did he sign a new contract if he didn't want to stay? You don't sign a new contract if you don't intend to stay right... and After signing less than a year, why does he want to leave? There must be good reasons behind it and money definitely isn't it as i have pointed out earlier.
We will all know very soon what actually happened when his new book is release. -

Anyway, fabregas is coming good and like you said now he is a regular not only in arsenal but also spain. But that's the problem. I don't see him staying with Arsenal very long... at most another 4 yrs but possibly in a year or two he will be going back to Spain. Young players from major league countries in Europe would probably like to go back to their home country if they have a choice to play for their top teams. He left Spain cos he couldn't get into the first team in his home country but if he could now, he probably will. Fabregas is still learning and in a year or two time he would be a good midfielder. But unfortunately, arsenal do all the hard work and will lose him to some spainish team ready to take him back when he is ready. -
